Runemaster spec

Ive recently been playing my runemaster alt a lot and have decided to try to push him to 50 he is at this moment level 35 with 35 in suppression (want that 6 sec pbt)

so my question is this I have 2 spec plans in mind, either full 50 suppression or 44 suppresion and 31 dark or runecarving, so would I do more damage with the spec 50 supp DD or the lvl 30 spec DD's in RC or dark bearing in mind with RR's and SC my secondary spec whichever I choose would be around the 45ish mark.

Hope that made sense have confused myself endlessly over this but my gut feeling is the 44/31.

And please no posts saying respec at 40 and go darkness I want that 6 sec pbt and I like nearsight too :)

Well i would say that the best is to go 50 suppresion, since you can no way get the same dmg out put on spending the rest of the points in another spell line. The 50 suppresion dd snare is sure great also, specialy for owning tanks.

By only going 44 suppresion you would miss the 46 aoe dd snare also.

thanks for the reply could use some more feedback though (not that I dont trust you just this is my first caster and I know little about them)

the 50 supp spec DD is listed as doing 179 dmg every 3 sec cast

the 30 dark spec DD is listed as doing 137 dmg every 2.8 sec cast

now if I spec to the 50 supp DD any + supp items wont have much of an effect as anyhing over 50 in a spec line has diminishing returns?

also the 137 dmg of the 30 spec dark DD would after items and RR bonuses end up being a 45ish skill so would be doing a lot more than the 137 listed dmg?

and the 36 ae DD and 41 DD in supp has the same snare effect as the final version of the spell 35%

could you comment on whether thats correct or im waffleing like a gimp please as tbh im still very unsure.

Thx.

In 1.54 spell resist is based on level of spell, not level of spec, so anything less than a 45 level spell is going to be heavily resisted. Multi speccing just isn't viable anymore (GG Mythic).

So my advice to you would be to go 50 Supp and put the rest of the points in RC for better variation on your baseline bolt.

Thx dook, had read about that somewhere but hadnt even considered it, think its pretty daft idea to force people to spec one single line to near max to have any effect though.

Sure I read something once by mythic saying the surest way off gimping yourself was to max a single line............ /clap

So what you are saying here is that 47(dark/rc) 26(supp) wont be as good anymore?

And the only PBT you will get is from the 50supp runnys ? :)

(my lvl 4 runny will be 50 soon enough!)

Nah 47/26 will be fine, the only thing that will really suffer with that spec is nearsight.

I was talking about people who multispec, for example, having all specs in the 30s.

Dook, with 26 supp you get the lvl 25 nearsight, 120 secs duration, is that bad ? :)

Have no idea, the only caster i have is my summ sm, who actually uses his pet to fight ;)

Nah that nearsight is more than adequate. Problem is next patch when you try hitting a level 50 with a level 25 spell. ^^

I have a level 19 Nearsight (I'm specced 50 Dark, 20 Supp) so I'll probably remove nearsight from my QB alltogether.
