Hi all,

It's time for me to call upon the help of FH. I've entered a 5 nations England and Wales rugby sweepsteak. The only problem is i know very little about rugby and need help choosing which teams will win and how many tries they will score. If any of you with good rugby knowledge could help i would appreciate it, here is the fixture list below.

No Fixture Date Prediction No Tries
1 Ireland v Italy 04/02/2006
2 England v Wales 04/02/2006
3 Scotland v France 05/02/2006
4 France v Ireland 11/02/2006
5 Italy v England 11/02/2006
6 Wales v Scotland 12/02/2006
7 France v Italy 25/02/2006
8 Scotland v England 25/02/2006
9 Ireland v Wales 26/02/2006
10 Wales v Italy 11/03/2006
11 Ireland v Scotland 11/03/2006
12 France v England 12/03/2006
13 Italy v Scotland 18/03/2006
14 Wales v France 18/03/2006
15 England v Ireland 18/03/2006

Any help would be great, thanks.

I would go with a low number of tries for each match. The boring way in which union is played means teams will often kick penalties rather than run the ball for a try.

With regards who will win, I doubt Italy will win a match, scotland will only beat Italy. Wales romped it last year, but seem to be struggling at the moment, whilst France are always in with a shout. If it was myself doing the predictions id say Italy to lose all, Scotland to beat italy but lose to everyone else. Ireland to beat scotland, wales and Italy. Wales to beat scotland and italy but lose the rest. England to beat everyone bar france and france to beat everyone.
