Hi All,

Any initial thoughts on RTR ? Just got it today and have played a couple of maps. Monte Casino looks good with the thunder clouds and the sound of thunder in the background but is just another nadefest like Berlin or Stalingrad.

I've subscribed with BW since the beginning, I used to use the SOF2 public servers and naively thought everyone would pay to play on such fast stable servers. Doh !. Since p2p I've yet to play a single game on any server as they are always empty. Mostly play blueyonder and eauk servers at the moment.

Are there particular times anyone plays on the BW servers, I've noticed on the irc channel that it says tonight at 8pm, is that every night ?

That topic on the irc channel was set a few days ago, grrrr update the topic Scoob.....

Keep your eye out in here for organised games, last time we did have a couple of new faces to add to the [G] and [DP] regulars.

Hopefully the slow build up of players has begun now, and we can play a bit more on the admittedly good servers that we have at our disposal.

One good thing , when we do get a game going, is the lack of the lamers you tend to get on the totally public servers.

Look forward to playing with you Div, so to speak..

As for RtR, I'll be popping into town to buy it tomorrow, I'll let you know what I think then.

eeep, sorry I don't tend to check the topics as I stay connected.

I'll organise another BW bf42 fun fest for sometime over the weekend, probably Sunday as long as it doesn't clash with other organised games.

It isnr but I got mine today courtesy of Gameplay -- pay for first class postage and they send to arrive by day of delivery - usually when they get it in - so you usually get a day early

My inital response was oh dear oh dear ---- the new tanks etc look good but the fighter bombers seem to make planes even more ludicrously powerful -- and with less AA guns -- tho that could just be I dont know the maps well enuff to get to them !

Tanks are gonne be more powerful v fighters etc but fighter bombers...

got mine from gameplay too.

just had a marathon session on husky. eauk have 500% tickets so it took 1.5 hours to finish. There are some advantages of working from home.

Hope I'll be able to make it on sunday, it will be a nice change to play without the usual smacktards you get on the public servers. Meanwhile if anyone sees me on eauk give me a shout (or shoot if you are on the other team), I'm not in a clan so always play as Div

I called GAME to try and cancel my order, but they said it was already out for dispatch and that was yesterday. Got the dispatch confirmation today.

Shame really considering I don't want it anymore. I'll play it... but I won't enjoy it god damnit.

Bah, I went into town to try look for a few games to help me through this time off work, and would you believe it, every game is out bloody tomorrow and they won't sell it until then. Unreal 2, Road to Rome, Serious Sam Gold.... Don't they realise I'm ill and deserve a bit of slack?

Is it worth buying RtR? Does it have much of a sinle-player campaign or is it just multiplayer with bots again? I need to take my SimCity 4 back (impulse buy ) and want to replace it with something.

Unreal 2 possibly. Maybe wait for Splinter Cell on the 28th. Then Freelancer in April.

RtR is a rip off with stuff that should really just be made available in patches, and bf was never meant as a single player game, so don't expect it to change that.

Having said that I shall be buying it tomorrow, first thing anyway, cos, well you have to really...

Same as Gumbo, I don't think it should be a release, but I'll buy it anyway simply because I love the game.

Well, to continue my story I've just been to PC World to return SimCity 4 to be told that "our policy is only to refund software that doesn't work"

"But it doesn't work, brother" says I, droogs, all strut-like.
"Really?" quips he, dripping in suspicion. I should point out, brothers that this little shop-monger was knee-high to a grass and must have been fresh from scouts or something like.
"Yeah," retorts I, "it installed okay but then chucks up a mess about memory errors or some such."

To cut a long short, brothers, I have 35 queen-head's of currency to spend only in that shop. Fine, I thinks, but alas, brothers, my story doesn't end there.

The gypsy slow-buses only haven't got Road to Rome or Unreal 2 on their shelves, have they?

I come homestead disappointed and vowing to drag my noggin back inwards in morn.

They always buckle when some one fronts up to them, sadly they could test the game out and if they got it to work then they don't have to give your money back

Incidentaly I played SimCity 4 solidly for two days but I can't imagine ever playing it again. You spend hours working yer nuts off just to see a building one storey higher than the others.
