Well its been out a few days..

Personaly i dont like it, it feels too much like quake 3 arena, almost like a q3 mod (i.e. TA) with germans.

The multiplayer version when its finaly released will more than likely be pants on public servers but could be good fun for clan games and hopefuly the single player game will be enough to keep you occupied for a few hours more than q3 single player was.

I'll no doubt buy it but i cant say im looking forward to the final release.

You have to remember that the final game was designed as a single player game and only towards the end of development did they outsource the multiplayer part of the game, it wasn't originally gonna even have one.

I didnt care for the game much either but i only got on servers with crappy pings. The weapons are alright needs just the m1(i think) rifle. its burned into my mind that was the most common weapon in ww2. probably not but still.

I played on crap servers at the begining and I thought it was the net code but I've found a couple o servers where the laggs gone. Its v cool to play and Ive been on servers with at least 10 aside.

I guess lots of comparisons will be made with CS but I think it looks and feels very realistic. CS can't get past the Half-life engine which is getting way past it's prime. The first time you were bombed from above or flamed by the impressive volumetric flamethrower (much better than Kingpins attempt) has to be seen.

I almost hate the way these things are released really as it's like sneaking a peak at your Christmas presents. I still download them though
It really means the impact won't be so great. I hope that this is only a small part of whats on offer in the final release. It is a Quake3 mod like all licensed engine games but there is a fully scripted story that you wont get with a mod and it's done by Raven who did an excellewnt (if short ) job on Elite force.

Agreed. Multiplayer public gameplay of RtCW will suck massively, even more so than public CS gameplay. Clan gameplay will totally RULE, with two clans filled with people who know exactly what they're doing, all with predefined roles and so on. Very teamplay orientated, and I get the impression this is why a lot of people don't like it on first glance - they can't experience a proper set 2 team game where everyone pretty much knows what they are doing and when and why. And so on.

Single player should be good too. Personally I cannot wait for this.

I had doubts about it before, I never paid much attention. I didn't really even eagerly anticpate the demo, I forgot it came out and downloaded it an hour late or so. But ooooh yes it will rule.

Assault for UT was very similar but it failed mainly because ppl came to exploit too many tricks and jumps meaning games could be over in 5 seconds. I don't think it will work as a game mode

It's either the server he's playing on, or his net connection. It is not the game. Most likely the servers, as the demand is huge.

TBH I just played on a side that showed the collective IQ of about 5.

I managed to get on the BW server last night. I was pinging under 100 all the way. In fact, from the join screen it said the ping was 42. Not bad.
I love this! I was up till two in the morning playing it....and I have to get up for work at 5:50am!!!
At one time there was some brilliant teamwork going on. As with Ut Assault...you just need one nippy fucker to get in and the games over in 2 seconds flat...after a couple of rounds like this, I dunno what happened but suddenly my team became like a brick wall. A couple of people (including myself) went medic and kept the forces healed and we managed to win several rounds in a row...with even sides!!!
The coolest thing I've found when playing as an Ally is to start off with a rocket launcher and fire one of them right into both the bunkers at the start....because it's where people spawn, they're getting their bearings or dashing to use the guns...can wipe out up to 3 or four right off doing that.
Sniping from the boat is also cool, you get some cheeky bastard who's manning the guns in the bunker and no one can get near to bomb the door, so I change to sniper and keep picking him off till we get the door open.

Yes..I really like this game!!

I was playing last night and after a few wins the enemy were getting wise to my rush-up-ladder-with-flamethrower-hoping-not-to-be-seen-much tactics. So I let my team-mates do the attacking whilst I sniped like that bloke off saving Private Ryan. All good fun and we won the round. Next round it seemed like all my team had decided to become a sniper. Needless to say we didn't win and after a couple more rounds I went to bed annoyed
