Realm Rank Expansion:

Posted By: Sanya Thomas 2004-09-28 17:12:45

On Saturday at the Roundtable, the guys on the Catacombs panel announced that we were going to extend the Realm Rank levels to fifteen. We warned everyone at the time that things can and will change between then and launch - and here's the first change: After a discussion today, the design team decided to extend the system as far as twelve, not fifteen. I should have the full details of the new system to post for you all tomorrow.

I mentioned the RP thing to the ranger TL on the ranger forum, ihis reply was something along the lines of "thats what someone told me", he seems quite clueless tbh.

just wonder if the new ranks will be awarded rsp to spend or will just get some fluff or special boy ra's (.)(.)

allowing stacking up on NF realm abilities to level 5 could further the gap bewteen hcore and casual players even more - yipes

Bad move to be honest. RR10 players are already one man walking armies without giving them another 2 realm ranks of wtfpwn.

I would like to ask a question. If a wizard is RR5, is he really that handicapped compared to RR10 Wizard ? plz explain. Especially in NF, where every RA costs an arm and a leg.

Someone says RR11s are one-man armies, but I fail to agree, since many battles are won and lost without using any active RA's many a time.

Think they should increase RR's higher than 12 tbh due to the RA's being so expensive

Everyone needs a goal in Daoc and hence why its a good idea to increase the rr cap. But surely theres a better way of giving credit for post rr11 realm dings, for example a few of the things Garbannoch mentioned on vn boards such as rr12 only morphs for example so that the rr11 characters have something to play for and the lower rr characters dont get farmed by rr150's in glorified god mode.

Yes he is, stat caps for buffs and (though i conceed not a strong point), extra + skill.

rr5 -> rr10 mage = +50 int and +50 dex fully buffed? There seems to be quite a bit to chose from in NF, if you cant spend 50 realm skill points on something that helps you win then god help you.

Yes continue to kill the game for the casual gamer even more. And what are they thinking of when they try to enhance the gameplay for newcommers by giving them easier to lvl tools. soon they will ask for more and they might even get more rp's just cause they are new to the game.

And i do really hope that they never increase the RR's to 12, RA's are already too good at a pretty reasonable cost. Better to let it be as it is atm imo.

How is RR10 +50 int and dex? RR doesn't affect buff caps (they decided it was silly and removed that before it got off pendragon). So the only difference is ability to buy more aug dex and aug acu - and that's not going to be 50 difference.

gah, I thought we had buff caps based on RR.

Ok then i conceed, rr12 or whatever wouldnt really help mages much more.
