RPC server?

Got windows xp and last night tried to connect up a printer, wont install it as it says the RPC server is unavailible. Also if i try to add a printer from control panel it just says operation could not be completed.

Anyone know how to correct this problem so i can connect up a printer?

I know its not daoc related but couldn't get any information on this anywhere.

reinstall the Client for Microsoft Networks or File and Print Sharing for Microsoft Networks?

Thats ringing bells anyway. Since i last tried any printing i downloaded a xp updater patch related to that. Ill re run the updater.
