This is getting on my nerves now.
I've been waiting for stuff, which should only take 2-3 days to arrive. It's now about a week ago i ordered these things. And i'm still waiting. I swear to the Lord, if it's been delivered to the wrong house (meaning i may never receive it), i'll go insane.

Question: Should the Royal Mail be privatised?

Answer: No

Question: What should happen?

Answer: Get it's fucking act together. :/

The workers at my local sorting office (Cowley, Oxford) have gone on strike three times in six months. They went on strike over Easter for two weeks and two weeks after it finished we got an Easter card that had been sent five weeks previously. It's a fucking joke.

Saw a late night documentary where a reporter got a job in a royal mail sorting office in London and was getting told by other employees how to steal credit cards and other things. It seemed very easy to get a job there and make extra money by stealing things.

But in my personal experience I've never had a problem with Royal Mail. Always been a very good service. I do think the cost of stamps is too low and they could raise the prices to pay their workers more, but if they did that another company might just move in and undercut them. Bit of an awkward situation really.

I've always had excellent service from them. They're a damn sight cheaper than couriers.

I've always found them to be good as well but that could be that we've had the same post staff for years and years

Recorded mail isn't infallible though.

Last year i didn't receive my Leeds Ticket at all, 2 days before the event & I was panicking slightly, £100 down the drain if they didn't deliver it.

Went to the post Office on the off chance that they had it there, and it was.

Turns out they delivered it to the wrong house, the person there wasn't in so they pushed a "You were out when we called" note through the door, the person didn't bother coming to my street to give me the note (the street name it was delivered to was so extremely different to mine it's unreal how they were confused).

Same happened to a friend, although the person took the slip to his house.

Though I may have known the postman who was working at the time, some dickhead from my highschool, prime wanker who knew my name and decided to 'lose' the letter.

With the size of Royal Mail shit is going to happen at times, but the dispatches programme on channel 4 I'd take with a large pinch of salt.

The agency staff they were showing were on hand during the large strike last year were all the postal staff walked out, the agency staff were called in to help try and deliver the mail (although the program makes you believe they are there all the time).

Problem is no one hardly complains. If something is lost ring the helpline and things can be fixed in time.

My best mate had a business partner who stole a small fortune by working in the sorting office and intercepting pension books. He was only found out when he had an argument with his wife and she reported him out of spite.

When I say a "fortune", we are talking seven digits.

my local post office at my parrents house isn't very good - they take an extra day or 2 to deliver letters usually, and stuff like magazines gets sidelines until the post deliverer has room.

Once got a magazine subscirption 14 days after it was despatched... I called Future Publishing after 11 days and said the magazine hadn't been delivered, so they sent me another copy.

Both Magazines arrived on the same day.

Usually adding the bigger neighbouring town to the address means we get the mail on time.

Other than that, Royal Mail are fine with unimportant things :)
