Router help!!

i bought myself Linksys WRT54G.

connected 3 computers and 1 wireless laptop to it.

i allso have a DSL modem that uses a PPPoE connection to my ISP.

so i have managed to conf it so it works.

but once in a while.... i loose LAN, wireless and allso connection to my ISP...

i mean... my pc says that the cable to my local area connection has been unplugged or something...

same whit other PCs

allso wireless drops on my laptop.

its annoying me to hell.... i cant think of what could be causeing it.

at first i thought it might be the DHCP servers client lease time that is set to 24h at default... but i have it set to 9999minz (thats about 7 days) but that doesnt help

Hm, sounds pretty annoying. And yes, it does sound like some sort of DHCP problem, is your router also running a DHCP server, because that might be it then, otherwise you could try with a static ip?

The Linksys, by chance, goes power awol that u noticed?
Seems that chances are all to be a problem with the router tbh.
Also if the Dhcp renews u don't lose connectivity (when it reports cable disconnected it's a physical warning ie the cable is disconnected ot is connected to an unpowered network thingie).
I would try to check if there's a new firmware for the router and check this forums also:

Ghan is right, if it was a dhcp error you would get a "limited or no connectivity" warning not a cable disconnected message.

ok, i managed to get time and do the firmware upgrade.... sofar so good... will see in a day or so if it dies again
