The bow of doom is a longbow (that scouts use) whereas the bloodied bow is a short bow (that mercenaries use) in case anyone gets them mixed up (like I did ). And sure thing Jup I'll save a festering staff for you. We have at least 4 or 5 so there shouldn't be a problem.

Can I just ask, where will the gold go to? I've never bought or sold an item in my entire time in DaOC is this a normal thing to do? Not an anti-SoTL flame, just a genuine question

It will all be used on our crafters and for RvR purposes (door repairs, rams etc... Just our way to get gold from all those people with multiple plats after we're all down to < 100G after repairing etc. j/k ).

It's not like entire SotL needs a new dye job.

Gaaah I've been trying to reply for about 30 minutes (thanks forums randomly logging me out) and Coren beats me to it!

Since most of our members are level 50 we have virtually no cash income anymore as exping is where you get it all from. Epic mobs don't drop a lot and RvR certainly costs more than it gives back We could go and farm cash but I'm sure people would love us to camp all three tangler spawns with one level 50 AE group

As a guild we've spent over 30 plat repairing relic doors plus we helped finance Lessa to 999 fletching and are currently supporting our other crafters to that goal as well. I'm sure anyone who is crafting post 900 can tell you it costs tens of plat for those last 99 skill points. On top of which there is the cost of buying rams, buying back con and all the miscellaneous money sinks this game has.

The fairest solution seemed to be to sell off drops that people who are still exping (or who have just finished) would like and we have spare. That way everyone benefits, the realm gets more items in circulation that would otherwise rot in my vault until a twink could use them and we get much needed cash. Item trades are of course welcome and we've had some successful ones in the past (+envenom weapons I am looking at you!). We've also been giving Hendrick various LB drops for crafted Archanium weapons in return.

All in all it has been working well and I think both parties are pretty happy. After all unless you craft there is little to do with most of your cash beyond buy lots of dye
