Its on Steam.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/301520/

Its a game where you build a tank/plane/helicopter/rocket powered seat and then beat the daylights out of other peoples tank/plane/rocket chair in a TDM/Base capture setup.

Graphically its nothing to write home about, its a bit better than minecraft, weapons fire is fairly well done. Blowing chunks off of the enemy vehicles feels satifying.

And TBH, you've never done war till you've had a guy strapped to a chair, bolted to some boosters come careening across the map, firing wildly and then smash into a mountain.

It does get more tactical at higher levels, although i'm in the Tech3 band at the moment, starting to see people working in small teams. One guy whos effectively a massive armour plate shielding his more heavily armed cohorts, while they fire over the top of his vehicle.

Creating a vehicle that can fire over the 'chest high walls' that dot the maps and expose a minimal amount of itself in return pays dividends.

The tech trees are fairly well thought out, you can go down the hover gunship route and then switch into ground tank. Movement, weaponary and defense are all separate trees to work down.

I was running into an issue with my low profile tank where i could face off against SMG and plasma vehicles fairly well, but railguns would mince me, punching through the outer armour and killing my pilot. Adding some energy shielding to the right areas has made this less of a threat now, and my new tank treads give me a nice stable platform to shoot from.

Give it go!

Free to pay model, so "buyer" beware. Also early access so bugs ahoy. Worth a shot since it is free :p

TBH i've not encountered anything i had to buy yet. Its very much like World of Tanks, you can buy higher tier premade vehicles, but anyone whos built a vehicle can build exactly what you purchase.

The higher level armour blocks cost considerably more of the mission reward currency. But i've been able to build a good T3 vehicle without expending any cash thus far.

Yeah that's why i used "free to pay", instead of "free to play". I like to differ those two as the first being one where you never need to pay a dime(hearthstone, dota, etc) and the latter that uses paywall mechanics(like paying to complete buildings etc).

Shame i'm not in a place to make that distinction more public :p

Then there's ofcourse pay to win, where you can only get some stuff with real cash.

Mmm i dont disagree :)

That said punting some cash into the system, 4500 'credits' is £4.50, at 300 credits you get a days premium which gives you +100% mission reward, and everyone gets +5% per premium player in a match, so you get 105% from just yourself.
Longer premium time periods cost less per day as one would expect.

Yeah i'd say it's around a 15€ game(depending on your enjoyment/dedication/etc), so putting that much into it is a reasonable amount.

I always like to think of payments in free games as such; how much would you be willing to pay and does that get you enough of the paid content.

Yar i had the same thought with games like GuildWars 2 and Archeage. Those sorts of games, at the time, i'd be happy giving a WoW type sub to for the amount of playtime i got out of them.

So money went into a kitty for when i might want something :)
