1. take your vinyl out of the cover.
2. note the title of the track you need from the label in the centre.
3. start Kazaa
4. type in name
5 the music is "mysteriously" transferred via the magic ether onto your hard disk

The easy way to do it would be to hook your turntable into your PC via your amp. Then use a "What you hear" style recording tool (fairly sure you get one with whatever the latest Creative SB software is). It's a bit of a hassle though, you have to do all the cutting of the track yourself, and have to deal with the inevitable pops and whistles, plus it will never sound as good as the original. You're better off just bringing your turntable upstairs. Good vinyl sounds great. Good vinyl ripped sounds flat.

If you wanted to do it you can plug your amp into the line in. There are a few Vinyl ripping tools about actually.
I have a program on a PC Plus cover disk called "LP Recorder 2.2".
Since I don't own any vinyl I've never used it but I can send you the installer if you want to give it a go?

PM or email me if you want :)

Technics are hardly the best sound quality.

agreed, but you'd hardly want to be dragging records backwards and forwards on a state of the art turntable..............stantons cost enough as it is.

DJ TTs = shit sound quality. A Linnt TT can be picked up for about 100 quid second hand and will sound way better than any DJ TT simply because it isn't a direct drive system.
