I was shocked and sadened to hear that Ronnie Barker has died today at the age of only 76, far too young.
I thought the least that i could do was post here and pay tribute to such a comedy genius and wordsmith.
I understand that he was battleing through illnesses and such in his later years, and my thoughts go out to his family and friends. I guess he will be most remembered for being one of the two Ronnie's, I still cant believe that he's gone.

Rest In Peace Ronnie

one of the superstars of mirth. his sense of humour was 2nd to none. up there with eric morecombe, spike milligan, tommy cooper and a few others as some of the geniuses of comedy.

he will be missed by many :worthy: :worthy: :worthy:

"fork handles please" (four candles) was one of his best sketches

aye R.I.P Mr Barker,

loved his shows, open all hours, porridge, the 2 ronnies shame that that sort of comedy has pretty much died out now.

Class act and great actor. Just hope they rerun some of his shows as I can never get enough of porridge and open all hours. Sometimes I wish more people would quit whilst at the top, but I really wish he'd kept working as he really was fantastic.
