It will be about as good as an MMO based on a tabletop game.

Warhammer is one of the largest and MOST strict universes around to make stuff about. You should see how ridiculous the Warhammer peeps are about their stuff and how it's used.

This in mind, it'll go through millions of checks, from single one-liners to bolter bolts to see that it fits the universe.

Should be most excellent.

I'm hoping to see atleast a Titan in there though :p

Or maybe a nice lil defiler mmmm....

well, that was Mythics fault really :)

/edit: tho i have to say that a 40k MMO would probably have been one hell of alot better then the game Mythic made.

so heres hoping that someone (NOT MYTHIC!) makes one of those :)

Oh god, they could have chose ANYTHING from the Space Marine chapters, but no, they have to go with the crappest, most overused army of 40k universe.

Black Templars/The Fallen = yes
Ultramarines = no.

If you seriously think that will make any difference to the end result, you may be interested in looking after some funds that have come in to my possession from the President of Nigeria.

There is going to be a lot of dissapointed marines collectors when this is released.
Maybe If they took the horus heresy books and faithfully converted them into film then we could have a good series of movies, but I have a feeling that this is gonna suck (especially since they've decided to focus on the ultramarines: the chapter with no personality).

I've actually got direct info on the over-strict way they handle their titles and such.

They have ALL the power on how this will turn out.

Every single piece in the universe has been checked, re-checked, approved, re-approved and then left to rot for a year before putting it in.

So what? Read a Warhammer book? Shite. (and I like Dan Abnett).Played the MMO? Shite. Read one of the comics? Derivative shite. You can control all you want, but GIGO.

I sincerely hope that no producer takes any notice of the legions of bespectacled and zit-covered unsociable nerds out there who think that just because they play a game in an imaginary universe with imaginary friends they have a God-given right to influence the direction a film takes.

Then you don't like the brand, that's fair enough.

Not the fans, but the creators.

Only right way to make a movie is to make it as the people who created it want it.

Goes for star wars 1,2,3, goes for matrix 2+3, goes with anything. You don't have to like it, but it's how it should be.

Ultramarines are one of the least flavoured parts of WH40k. I don't understand why choose them unless someone misread awesomness into the pun nature of their name.

Still, could be a wind-up, could be real. I'll perch comfortably on the fence on this one.

Like Malazan Bridgeburners: "First in, last out"!!

When are they gonna decide to make a movie about the Malazan saga instead of crappy vanila fantasies :flame:

that would be truly epic, but it would also be way to easy to fuck up.

There is soo much going on in your average Malazan book that it would be hard to translate into a film.

Who what now?

Which is exactly why they create better characters. Dark angels have a murky past, and blood angels are fighting extinction.

Voice acting: Excellent
Story: Decent
Atmosphere: Decent
Music: Decent
Artwork/Animation: Shockingly bad. Most computer games these days have better animation.

The worst for me is seeing the toughest hombrés in the history of space warfare mincing along. Just... wrong.

Still, if you can see past the woes of the dodgy art and animation then its an enjoyable enough romp, with some splat-tastic gore here and there.

Saw it in a special preview screening, can pretty much agree with what Roo says, although I thought that the story was sub-par and padded.

I looked at the trailer and frankly I have seen bad computer games with better animation :(
