Love his stand-up, less bothered about his TV work.

He's just not funny is he. I get more of a laugh watching horrible histories with the kids.

Well I think he's funny, especially with Steven Merchant.

He's funny but you really need a thick skin to find his material funny, plenty of comedians around the world do worse shit than he does but they get away with it :p the reason Gervais generally doesnt is because he has a massive ego which he quite happily flaunts and thus people take an instant dislike to him.

Overrated for sure, but he has his moments. Then again, so do homophobic wifebeaters.

Ahh Jimmy was on Deal or No Deal a few days back, first time i almost seen that man cry! He kept it in though.

I've never completely being a fan of Gervais, only thing i truely loved was Idiot Abroad but he only made appearances for about 5minutes at a time. The new comedy he is doing now though just doesn't interest me, even if it does have Pilkington.

It has nothing to do with his ego. It's just his jokes are shit and his "comedy" writing is terribad. Crap actor too, he is basically the bloke from the office in everything he is in.

Comedy is best served in a dingy club, live.

Anything on the telly < anything live.

I quite liked An Idiot Abroad but then it didn't have much of Gervais in it so that helped :)

I thought Derek was truly awful. Appallingly acted, not at all funny in the funny moments and so blindingly obvious at trying to pull heartstrings.

Life's Too Short was ok, but a bit too much like treading over old ground.

Idiot Abroad + Ricky Gervais show are wonderful.

Extras was really good.

The Office - I haven't seen a huge amount of it so I won't comment.

Standups - his first two are brilliant, his later stuff much less so.

11 o'clock show - Fantastic.

Anything I've missed? He's good but seems to have hit a bit of a loop the last couple of years. Casting Karl in Derek was an awful idea, he just cannot act at all.

he had a bit part in The night at the museum iirc, but as said previously he basically acted the same as he did in The Office anyway imo.

Oh yeah he did a couple of film appearances and did that Ghost Town film as well, none of which I've seen.

Oh god I'm watching Derek and it's utter turd. The woman keeps saying "oh he's so funny" and he does really lame things like sit on the rhubarb and custard or falls in the pond. So forced.
