So what exactly was his crime that warranted 5 months in Jail, publicising pornagraphic material?!?!

Surely there are thousands of porn web sites that could fall under that category, although I understand he's been a naughty boy I can't see where he actually stepped outside the law. If its the alleged hacking part, surely most people in a relationship either know or can guess each others passwords for sites such as freinds reuinted or email accounts.

On a more lighter note, they could have supplied the link to the images

His ex didn't give permission to have porn put up, hacking someones Friends Reunited or Hotmail account is illegal, intercepting text messages is illegal, making posters to put up in their home town...

You get the idea.

Deserved a fine if that. The reason for the revenge should also have been taken into consideration

It normally is. You get a reasonable cooling off period. I think he went well beyond that, hence the jail sentance.

Imagine the poor lad explaining that to his cellmate.

Well if ya ask me his defence lawyer needs debarring, it must have been a piece of pish to have got him off of that charge.

1) Porn - she was obviously willing to have her photo and video taken whilst on the job (so to speak), all he had to do was say she gave verbal permission to submit to a readers wives website, and therefore thought nothing of making his own site

2) Accounts hacked - He has a relationship with this woman, she probably used his PC, surely no hacking required when all the cookie information was sitting on his own PC, ok a bit naughty but hardly hardcore hacking material.

3) He never commited the interception of text messages, it was a "freind". Proof he didnt have access to the equipment to do this would be more than enough to only be collabaration - a minor offence.

4) Again the making of posters is not illegal, the fact he had the posters cannot be used as proof of their intentional use. Maybe he was just going to decorate his bedroom with them

All in all, a very dodgy case, and one where if I was the defendant my lawyer would have got a smack in the mouth for not winning

Will-itchy, you are technically correct, because the definition of pr0n is what is illegal, but the laws have been relaxed in recent years to allow rather more explicit stuff to be sold, so stiffies are in.
