Respect to the Blendrake Mids

On a quick tour of Midgard earlier this evening my small group of brave Albion's stopped by Blendrake, which was flying the emblem of our fair land at that time.

At the gate we found a ram and the corpses of two low con Middie types, with their friends (mostly green and grey con to a level 50 but one blue con) sitting at the bottom of the hill.

After a quick charge and a brief battle they all lay dead.

But can I say -- big respect to you all, not many players would have the bottle to try and take a keep with those levels. Fair play to you all!

If you're reading this forum perhaps you'll let the world know your names, and tell us what went wrong with your attempted keep take.

Most Middies have the *bottle* to take keeps, regardless of levels, Ive had level 20's pm'ing me for space in my grps for keep taking! Eager little tykes that they are :D

Whats more a grp of 9 of us, 3 tanks, 3 healers and 3 casters retook Nottmoor the other night, with 1 lev 50 Gentry (Shaman) and no Rams. Despite the fact that many told us we were just suiciding (Solid! :D ) It took a while and we had double and triple guard pops but we got there in the end, good play? Determination? Or sheer bloody mindedness? Dunno, whatever it is its a *We WILL NOT be beaten* attitude that I love in most Middies.

/respect to all at Blendrake and to those who retook Nottmoor you are the kind of players that is making Midgard a great realm to be part of.

I was a member of the sort of rescue group..(a Full group of Talons Reach with one Rogue Purple Warrior member (our Sister Guild :) ))
Levels were 33-40 with one L16 :) and one L24-25

we were late because one of our group LD'ed and we waited for them..

by the time We had a visual on the keep the Death messages started to rool past. It was a bit of a monster guard pop..
so i am told..

We dealt with a patrol of red and purple guards (to L40) then started rezzing then we saw you :)
We downed one of your number.. a Red conn to me then the nukes had lowered our health enough..

btw one of my Group was a L16 SB :) was his first time out in the deeper frontier :) who your nuker blew him into tiny shreds with first nuke ...... Meanies :)

Me and Snif Fles a healer from PW tried to make a run for it (as all rest were dead) you chased her but not me :( So I rested and returned to Dent your armours aka try to do some damage... but your Nasty Assassin got a PA on me as i turned to get you to chase me in the vain attempt to draw one or two of you away...

Anyway People I know Were there were

Hufner Knebitar
Ingun Knebitar
Snif fles

Thanks for your post Kerram, you all did a bang up job for your Realm -- we were all mightily impressed by your efforts. And killing a level 50 armsman ... gratz!! He got a bit of a ribbing afterwards as you might imagine :D

And Tuppe, I don't take pleasure in killing low cons - but they were attacking a keep which was flying Albion's colours, so we felt we should defend it.

As for being brave or otherwise we had a group of just 6 (levels 42-50) and were looking around Midgard without minstrel speed to get us out of trouble. I think that qualifies as brave.

Furthermore we fought toe to toe with 10-15 of your realm mates (blue + yellow con) within bow range of your Portal Keep. None of us ran away and we gave a damn good account of ourselves. So, far from cowardly I'd say.

Look forward to meeting you and your comrades again in battle Kerram.

Yggdra? We headed there - my first time there actually - but not to kill greys or people who were hunting. We headed straight for the first blue/yellows we could find and started fighting.

As I said above it turned into a lovely big scrap just a stones throw from your portal keep, and we managed to kill some of you big ugly trolls even though outnumbered 2:1.

Must agree with you, with people like Kerram and his friends coming through in Midgard you have a lot of potential for the future. Be proud.

Having been one of the Middies who was on this raid, and one of the two who managed to get away from your initial attack on our group, I have to say that one person in particular that was with you earned my respect... a fellow named "Ghosted" I believe his name was... After I ran for a bit I stopped to regain my health, end and power and was just starting to head back to the remains of our group to start rezzing them, when Ghosted suddenly appeared before me... now being a healer of only lvl 39 at the time, of course my first reaction was to try and mezz him, that failed and he got some good wacks in on me, but, instead of trying to run, and knowing I didn't stand a chance against him, I decided to attack him instead... he of course evaded the one and only swing I got in and then proceeded to flatten me hehehe
But where he earned my respect was after he killed me, he bowed to me... Now whether he did that out of respect to me for trying to fight back instead of running I will probably never know, but, he did earn my respect for having the courtesy to bow to me instead of jumping up and down on my corpse, or standing over me laughing. which I see alot of going on in RvR and it offends me when I see players doing that to other players. Sure, it's only a game, but I think respect should still be shown to any player who is willing to take part in RvRing.
So to cut this short, My hats off to Ghosted, and all the others players who show respect to someone they have killed in RvR.
Ghosted, if you read this or someone else tells you about this, Thank You for making my time in RvR enjoyable, your courtesy towards me after killing me has shown me that RvR can be alot of fun, and I look forward to doing it again.

I was there on the first attempt. And it was a bit of a monster guard pop just after we got the ram up that did us in. Seemed like about 6 or more guards suddenly popped among us, some died before others of us even got off the door and we couldn't handle it. Still we got Blendrake and Nottmoor pretty soon after.

In fact, we'd have done allright as we had a much stronger group but a mass-ld slowed us down half our group headed off to what they thought was a dragon raid.

And we were doing it as we got killed in Darkness Fall, where I learned a new 'pre-death' suggestion: 'How strong is that Princess?'

Sorry 'bout that, feel better now ? :)

Generally I will /salute a fallen grey con as they show commendable bravery in fighting in RvR ... where they are prey for monsters as well as players.

Still can't get over the fact that you guys got a level 50 armsman, hehe, that really tickled the rest of our party :D

Until we meet again...

Aye i was that masked man.
I must thank snif_fles for his kind words about me, i won't boast and say im the best Inf in the realm.
Infact im probably gimped because he's my 1st character i ever made about 4 months ago when i got the game and i had no idea about class's or templates and i didnt read all the web sites on what to do.

Bowing to ppl i kill (when i get a chance) is a thing i do to every 1 as a sign of respect.....and kinda a apolligy aswell for killing them
Often not the wisest thing to do cus steathers should be running away from the crime scean instead of staying around to pay thier respects, but hey its important to me :)

Any 1 that enters combat with u diserves your respect (usualy).

Stealthers have the ability to enter combat with those that had no intension to fight or die so they diserve some form of recognition more than others.
