Hi guys.

I've noticed that many hardcore players have a lover resolution than the normal player in daoc, and I wonder why.

Does this give an advantage?

I can’t see any advantages except big icons and free fraps oO

hardcore player play so much that he don't have time to work.
no work equals little money.
little money equals poor computer equipment.
poor computer equipment turns out in low resolution :p

i play 1280x1024 if im rvring with bard, i feel with the bigger resolution ive got space for my UI to show me all the rvr maps, group windows, decent chat window size for instructions etc

Dont think theres a major difference in lag between resolutions tbh as its ur gfx card that does this not the network stuff :)

I thought it was the other way around. You get a better overview since the GUI takes less space in higher resolutions.

[praisemode]Since daoc doesn't have the GREAT UI scaling system that wow has. [/praisemode]

1280*1024 windowed here on a 1600*1200 desktop, so that the interface takes up less of the screen and you can see proportionally more

I am very elite and I play 800 x 600.
I have a good system with Radeon 9800 PRO

Lower resolution = more FPS

That's basically it, I dont run any fancy mods, I guess you have to raise your res if you do for most of them.

Also when you record with fraps they get less lag and most important better quality. Fraps sucks when handling resulution above 800x600
