Just thinking about arms post 1.81 anybody have any clues on how the Fury lvl 50 shout works? Is it a tier 2 or tier 1 50% resist bonus? Is the passive 15% tier 1 or tier 2?

Im guessing its all tier two right? So if that is that is the case, say you get 20% item resists from your temp, then the 15% passive, then the 50% shout, then empty mind 2, another 20%....20+15+50+20=105% for 10 seconds...

So if spell dmg is reduced by 105% is it gonna mean your gonna get hit for nothin for all of 10 seconds? Or am I just confused?

Why is noone on VN screaming nerf to this?

i dont know the Fury, but empty mind2 is secondary resist => means that if someone attacks you with a spell and would hit 1000, than
-25% base resist(from stuff) lowers the damage to 750.
-if you use empty mind2 too(20% secondary resist) this 750 gets 20% lower -> will hit for 600 if my calculations are ok.. so you cant go above 100% with empty mind, but sure you'll be hit for almost nothing..

Just incase anyone else is wondering found out its all 2ndary....Asked on VN....woulda been better if it'd been primary but people would cry too much and it'd get nerfed I suppose.

Oh well looking forward to implementing my template for 1.81 :)

Just out of interest, most lifetap spells out there, hp returns are based on dmg right? I.e. they have to hit you hard with it to get a decent percentage health return? Does this work off the actual first value of dmg the spell hits for or its value after primary and secondary resists have been taken into account?

Please dont say the first value or my caster killing plans will kinda be outta the window :)

resists arent simply 25%+10%+50%+ well you get the picture

its known as mutipliactive, quick example

you have 25% resists plus that weird 50% thing they get

you get nuked for 1000 damage, your resists reduce the damage to 750, you then use the next set of resists which is the 50% ones, so 50% of 750 is err....375 iirc?

so the total dmg you take is 375

now lets try your original stateent, 1000 damage -75% resists = 250 damage taken.

the example i gave is pretty much correct, im sure some smartass will tell you everything about all this but i am leaving work soon and dont have much time to post...hahaha yes even i have to stop posting every now and then!

Yeah thought that too as well, still works fairly nice, but tell me if Im calculating this wrong.

Nukes dmg is 1000
minus 20% for item resists (1000*0.2=200) = 800
minus 15% Passive resistance (800*0.15=120) = 680
minus 20% Empty Mind 2 (680*0.2=136) = 544
minus 50% Arms Fury shout (544*0.5=272) = 272
Total dmg taken = 272

Thats a reduction of 728 dmg pretty nice.

Hmm wonder if they stack. Aint maths fun.....that would be no ;)

Along with the extra hits from DR, and 1.81, as well as the 400 full toa hit cap Ive got, it should workout pretty nice, and not many out there nuke my un-templated arms for 1000. Only for 10 seconds ofc, but thats enough time to close down a caster to interupt them, and melee them down.

maybe it dpeends on the order it takes away the dmg, so that 50% taken away early would remove alot of dmg, yet at the end it would only take a little. bah i cant do maths!

Its takes away the same amount whether its at the beginning or at the end, sad little git that I am pulled out the calculator and tried it the other way around with 50% resist shout just after the items resists which I assume would be first with the dmg reduction being attached to the first tier resists...

hmm think it doesnt matter anyway you do the formula you still end up with 272 from a nuke for 1000....think I finally get it lol

Just as an example:-
Nukes dmg is 1000
minus 20% for item resists (1000*0.2=200) = 800
minus 50% from arms shout (800*0.5=400) = 400
minus 15% from passive (400*0.15=60) = 340
minus 20% from Empty Mind 2 (340*0.2=68)= 272

Wow i think I learned something new today..........:eek7: head hurts pass aspirin its 3am and Im doing sums!!!
