Resistance: New lease of life?

So, whad'ya reckon? Will Operation Flashpoint: Resistance bring some visitors back to the dead, rotting forum? Key enhancements for me are

• Enhanced graphics, with support for higher resolution textures, improved trees and foliage.
• Enhanced and optimised multi-player code.

Particularly that multi-player aspect which buried this game before it even started.

Is it too late for Codemasters and the Op Flash series? Will BarrysWorld finally be able to host a dedicated server or two? Will anyone ever read this?

Only time... will tell.

I love Operation Flashpoint online, especially coop play. Never bothered struggling through the single player game, but I play online about 3 or 4 times a week. Get your asses into #clan_mcnp about 1am or later on a Friday or Saturday night and pester me for a game.

Improved trees and foliage? Sounds good, though the higher resolutions I can leave, since my monitor would melt.

You just have to play online with people you know, and all meet up in IRC first. It's not a game where you can just jump on a server and deathmatch it. You get into the mission, work out a rough plan, and go kick Yankie/Ruskie ass.

It isnt amazing in the mainstream, anyone joining any server anytime area. But the actual MP is kick ass

The actual MP is good yes, but the poor server support and no console and extreme lag don't make for a good game.

Never had any lag problems. Shame about the non-working on 56k thing, it's next to useless for them.
