Resist Question

If a resist is over capped for instance, and then you get debuffed on the over capped resist, does the over capping affect the debuff.

Lets say xxxx resist capped @ 26%, over capped by 5% = 31% total (26% usable). Debuffed by lets say 10%, now would that debuff take resist xxxx to 16% or 21%.
Only because it could be reasoned that once it goes below 26% ur below cap and thus the extra caping would increase it?

Just a thought. Whether or not the engine actually works like that, any ideas.

Don't think it will help you as overcapping should be trash. And it's a very hard hard-cap they have there, really don't think it will affect anything :)

But haven't tested, so who knows?

Not trying 2 overcap anything on purpose, but was just wondering whilst doing some sc temps. The same question could also be applied to Stat debuffs.

Probley doesnt have any affect (like u say) at all but just curious to see if there could be any other posiabilitys.

;)

Don't think it happens for debuffing, not sure thought.

Another question would be, does it work for resist piercing ect? =o

short version = no

(you can easily try though with using itams on a toon that shud put u in the 50s range of resists. Then ask a cabby to debuff, or a sorc, notice you land on same endresist that you would with 26% baseresist.)
