Reserveing a Wii

Popped in Game today to reserve the Nintendo Wii. Turned out I was 146 out of the 148 they have inc on the 8th dec release. So if you want one before christmas its probably worth reserveing one over the next few days.


Demo video they had showing looked awsome.

After reading this months Stuff Mag i might get me a Wii they rate it better than the 360. Offcourse it will just be a stop gap for the PS3 with its free online gaming

wii is just a gamecube with a fancy controller. Nintendo have even admitted that the hardware is exactly the same, not worth its premium price.

It's not the same hardware. Shigero Miyamoto said that it was an 'updated GameCube'. It has some architecture in common but it's no more 'exactly the same' as a GameCube than a Core Duo is an 80286

I think it's cool that they made it backwards compatible. I missed out on Gamecube games as I could never be bothered with it.

The info about what quality of video it will output seems confusing, 480p? but with component output or what? doesn't really seem coherent when you consider what the x-box 360 can do.

/edit well after reading up it seems Wii will be EDTV, which is a bit lame >.>

I'll buy it because my NES and SNES are broken and some GC games sounds awesome - I'll be very surprised if Wii's controller is comfortable after the first few hours of "Wow, this is so cool!" feelings :S
