Just out of interest how are you going to deal with all the missing mobs in the Catacombs instances, making you unable to complete them.

There is no real point to right-now them as they are instanced dungeons, The only thing people can do is /send you or one of the other GM's.

If people cant get hold of you, then your going to have a lot of pissed of people, and a lot more flames


So whats your strategy to dealing with the bugged instances, having read the VN forums i know that these problems still exist?

Not to be whining more, but what is your "Backup" plan, in case these bugs should still occure in the EU version like they do in the current US version of the game?

Would be nice to know if there was any or that would be a state of "live with it"

Ah, well, then it really dont matter, perhaps it will take you longer time, but the game shouldnt be about reaching level 50 in a day, but about enjoying the trip to level 50...

No offence but it's kinda optimistic of you to say that the bug is fixed and calling him premature when mythic/goa time after time claimed to have fixed a bug that still exists

Wasn't complaining about the bugs, just inquiring as to what you were going to do when you get them (we both know you will get some bugs).

As for the test server, well you might not have the same bugs as the USA, Its good to test against known bugs in the US version, all that means is that you will get new bugs in the EU version. Which could have the same or worse impact in instanced dungeons.

So what your saying is that we wont have the same instance problems that are in the US version of catacombs, but just in case, whats the backup plan?

FFS Mythdicks still havnt fixed the mobs pathing into walls bug thats existed since the dawn of time . Throw a banana at them for me Req and get them to fix it lol. Nowt more annoying then stopping sidi raids due to crappy mobs getting stuck in walls

Ye of little faith, why not just wait until it goes live, reading VN is not normally a good indication of whats real in the game or just over hyped whinging from teenage yanks.

With every patch so far, theres been little in the way of major bugs, and many issues that were existant in the US versions of those patches were fixed when we got them. Im sure the GOA team will do their best to ensure they have all they need from Mythic to make the transition go smoothly, and with as many bug fixes as possible, however, what Mythic cant or havnt fixed in their version, GOA cant do either, as they cant adapt the source code. So if Mythyc dont have a backup, how can GOA be expected to, unless ofc you want them to revert to 1.71 if its bugged.

Our backup plan is the same as for all bugs in the game, if they are present we try to replicate them, identify why they are happening and fix them. In some cases, the last two steps can only be done by Mythic and so we have to pass the details onto them and wait for a fix. There's not really a lot more we can do other than that. If there's a bug with instances we have two options - wait for Mythic to fix it or disable instances altogether. As the second option isn't possible, that leaves us with the same 'backup plan' we've always had. From my experience and from the number of reported incidents, I'd suggest that it's not such a crippling problem as you suggest. Sure it's annoying but hardly game stopping.

I agree its not crippling, annoying yes. In the US you can page a CSR if you have a probelem with an instance, we do not have the same support as in the US (even though player numbers in EU and USA are not so far off).

So the choice of players will be to try and do the instance again, ask for help or avoid them all together.

Just wondered what you were going to do if you get hammered with people asking you to help with instances, and those times when a GM is not available, as right now is not really a viable way of resolving instance problems.

Instanced dungeons do bring new support problems.

Umm have you ever even used the US system? Post an appeal ingame sure... then wait the next 5 hours that you are online and get no answer, log in the next night join the que about half way sit for another 5 hours still get no answer, log out log back in the next day sit for 5 hours after joining the que halfway through again, no answer, log out, log in the next night find out your appeal has been cancelled with NO other option to ask for support.

RightNow as a system might suck however I'd rather have the option to ask for help out of game as well as ingame (seen GMs on both servers 3/4 hours a day the last few weeks) as opposed to having to sit on my arse and HOPE that they get around to answering me and if they don't tough I have to redo it and wait again. Add in that even in US prime there are all of about 7 CSR's taking care of 10 servers and usually over 500/600 appeals your average IN GAME wait time is about 15 hours.

This isn't just MY observations either, pretty much everyone I know who plays US (most from US beta) thinks the system is crap and don't even bother with appeals as even when they do get answered they don't as the CSR's are pretty much trained monkeys who know very little about the game.

No there isnt scroll drops in catacombs areas. In Instanced exp dungeons only money drops. In instanced dungeons (you zone in from dungeons, koalinth,muire, vendo, cursed tomb etc) Money and Aurulite drops. From the catacombs areas allsorts drops, but no scrolls. There is plenty of quests etc to do.

what about what grown up european players have tried?

i have only experinced once, but it was really annoying, been ask to clear a whole dungeon from mobs (think was about 35) and u killl 34 and dungeon is empty

European GM's suck they do nothing to help you, all they do is throw negative bullshit in ur face all the time. Mainly one of the reasons i left european servers was lack of customer support and shite lag. Like many others. They need firing and new ones bringing in or a few more including them. It may be a job but they aren't doing it right imo.

your missing the point right now will not work for instanced dungeon as they are instanced on demand and not permanent, unless you are willing to sit in the same instance and keep it "alive" until a GM can rectify it.

If the same bug is present when this version goes live (and so far this doesn't seem to be the case as there haven't been any problems like this on Gorre - but you never know) then we'll work with Mythic to fix it. If a fix isn't possible (for many many possible different reasons) then we will put in a system to ensure that we can come and help people who are experiencing these kinds of problems quickly and efficiently.

You can expect the same response time as you currently get on your "urgent" rightnow reports (like characters being stuck for example) so really it shouldn't be that bad.

Now we can talk about worse-case scenarios where 750 people are all stuck in their individual instances, GOA HQ is under attack by martians and the server platform is burning and in that case I can honestly say that waiting for us to answer RightNow is a bit pointless... you might as well go grab a rifle and help defend Earth from the martian invasion.
