It does not take 20 minutes to find an admin, there are bucketloads of CS admins -and I am talking Cs here not other mods. These admins have nothing better to do with their time then sit on irc. We are there 24/7. it would take to mintes to pop into #barrysworld and ask for one, not 20.

And I am probably going to regret this, if u really cant find an admin, come to #hai on quakenet, you are guarnteed to find one there.

Just dont leave the server and forget about it, it pisses me off when people moan about cheats and dont bother reporting them.

uhuh best thing is just to alt tab to mirc, /join #barrysworld, and ask for a counterstrike admin because someone is doing something on this server...

hopefully an admin is available, but it's not like we're paid or anything, we don't have a set rota, so we cannot guarantee there will always be one there.

Right Ch3tan, for your information, I've tried on at least 8-7 seperate occasions to get cheats and tk's (on ff) servers banned. EACH AND EVERY time I went into the barryworld IRC room there was not a single admin to take my request. Most of the time, I admit, this was about 3 in the morning.
Infact, one time I went in asking for an admin, I was met with a barage of abuse. The conversation went something like
"can anyone point me to an admin, there are 2 team wounders/killers on server #" (cannot remember the server number at the moment).
Responce was along the lines of "oh like we care, so there are team wonders, go and join another server".
So, instead I went back into the server, took a 5 min demo, several screenshots of the players and their WonIDs. I emailed them to barrysworld. The responce was well thanks but we don't really care, get an admin next time. WELL I DID FUCKING TRY, unfortunatly, admins aint available 24*7 (and until we get pay per play, I doubt this will change).
What Im basically saying is that, Ch3tan, Ive given up complaining about cheats. If I see one I leave. You can continue your vain quest to stop them all, cos it AINT going to happen without an admin on each server. And on each of those occasions, I bet the time I lost, watching the player for a bit, taking his WonID, recording a demo, leaving the server, starting IRC, sending /msgs to people in IRC and explaining myself, did mount up to about 20 mins of my life waisted. I cannot be arsed anymore, good luck to anyone that can.

Right enough of these stupid forum posts, here is a simple 3 step plan to report a cheat.

1. Visit http://www.barrysworld.com/games/liaisons.asp and from the list find the name of an admin for your game.
2. Join the main BarrysWorld channel on QuakeNET IRC. If you have mIRC you can click here to do this.
3. Speak to one of the admins that you've found on the list. Give them the Game, Server Number, Name of Cheating Player and Breif Description of the Problem.[/list=1]
   If nobody is about to help then please be patient. People shouting/spamming in IRC because somebody is away or not on IRC solves nothing and if persistant can actually provoke the ^Barry^ channel bot into kicking you out.
   
   Remember: The admins are there to help but we aren't pshycic and we're not robots. We can only help you if you tell us and we're not available 24/7, some of us do have lives you know

I'd recommend getting their WON ID with the console "status" command too. Quite often cheaters rename as soon as people start pointing them out.

The Correct Way To Destroy Cheaters.

OK, the admin here seem to not have a clue so let me help them.

The best way to destroy a cheater is by a permenant IP ban. If you ban WON ID's, all one need's to do is to hack their registry and change their number.

I have been banned countless times through various WON ID's but I have a huge supply and simply change them when the need arises.

IP bans were not very serious when most gamers had normal 33.6/56.9 modems, as whenever they logged on they would generate a new IP address and thus nullify the ban. However now most players use Static IP lines such as Cable modems and ADSL IP bans are the way to go.

My cable modem got IP banned and it was pretty nasty, as a static line IP only changes once every month or so. So when you whine to an admin about a cheater, make sure you request an IP ban.

Next.

The way BW admin work is that they can only deal out punishments to those players that they actually *see* committing foul acts. They will not (and quite rightly) trust the word of any jonnie n00bie, but will have to see real evidance or whitness an act before they take appropriate action.

I recommend you simply find read the list of BW game liasons and stick to the servers which contain these players.

If an admin is in the game and he has any competance then he will pretty much make sure your game is fair, and failing that at least scare cheaters and disrupters by his presence alone enough to stop most actions.

Unfortunately cheating is so down sown into counter strike, you will only notice say, 5% of wall hackers in the game. Normally the top well known and respected clan members ARE the cheating culprits.

Failing all this, just take the age old adage and get out of dodge, join up with a new server.

Good luck honest players, there are precious few of you left online anymore.

Barrysworld on the whole is an incredible set of servers, however the problem of cheating is highly evident among the premier servers (26 & 28). Soon BW shall be introducing new and much harsher methods of dealing with cheaters on their servers, not just Punk Buster, to ensure your gaming enjoyment.

lol, admins do this job currently out of the kindness of their hearts and cuz like the majority, they want gamers 2 enjoy the game, within the rules designed to make the game what it is.

Admitidly, there are those who just do it for the supposed power trip. You know the ones that go 'ooh ooh ooh' how do i become an admin. Then have little or no knowledge on how to spot a cheat or deal with an abusive situation.

However being an admin can be a pain in the ass:- when, and I use this word in its fullness! 'dickheads', like little grey man float around the servers, generally stomping all over other players fun and causing upset, by a lack of respect for the game they play or those they play it with.

Personnally, ive been phoned at 8.30 in the morning to deal with knobs 'like' grey before, and very rarely do you get thanked for it. I wade through emails on a regular basis regarding certain players behaviour and where possible, I try to resolve the issues raised.

There are players out there, for what ever reason, havent grasped the ethos that has developed over the last 4 years or so here at 'barrysworld' and why its important we dont lose sight of it. But generally, a fruitful conversation can have the required impact to allow them see why such behaviour is neither welcomed or actually enjoyable for themselves or others.

my advice is this, if you carnt find an admin on a server or irc, email one, report the facts of the incident and we will try are best to resolve the situation.

I went into the barrysworld irc room to report a cheat on a cs server, there was one cs admin there, he provided help while the rest of the stuipid loosers in there tried to give abuse. i gave one bit of abuse back and was banned from the room.....
is this what you get for trying to report a cheat?

just be calm, a lot of twats in #bw sometimes, not all are admins etc just other gamers.

Best thing to do is look at the public admin list and private message one of them. Just try again if u see another cheat, your not banned forever just a little while usually.

Actually try and give an accurate account Pace, you were told repeatedly that unfortunatly nobody could do anything @ that time, I had a clan match, Meatballs had problems with DirectX.

Luap banned you because you became abusive, no other reason.
