Renderer Creation Failed

hi, i get this message 'Renderer Creation Failed' everyTime i try to login. Some ppl told me that i had to delite User.dat, so i did but it didnt have a Effect, some ppl also said that it may be my PC but i was able to Play Toa alrady for a month!!

Can plz some help me here, atm i can only play with SI

Try installing the Direct X from TOA disk 1 m8, that migh do the trick

Spent the day wiping my old laptop, installing a clean install of win2k on it, copied SI over from this pc and prayed it would work. Been having really bad lag in rvr running 2 accounts and wanted to give my comp a bit of a break by using bb on a 2nd pc.

Needless to say i got the above error Installed dx off the SI cd (so 8.1), using gfx driver 2k installed.

Claims its a neomagic magicgraph256AV. After an hr searching I didnt find anything that seemed to be an updated driver for this device, was wondering if anyone had any suggestions.

Contemplating installing xp on it incase that has a better driver as default, the neomagic site is no use and im feeling kinda stumped.

The laptop is oooold, just want to run it in minimilistic fashion so I can just buff and ignore. 366celeron, 96mb ram, 4mb gfx card (I assume its the one mentioned above ~~) ...

Always check the laptop manufacturers site first for any updates to drivers, no real point looking anywhere else.

And never use the default drivers installed by 2k/xp or any OS for sound or video cards, you're just asking for trouble From personal experience, drivers from laptops that old would be very hard to come across on the site, you'd probably need to dig into their archives to find them.

Also, everyone _should_ be using Dx9.0b by now

I found a press release for that gfx chipset. Dates back to 1998 so I seriously doubt that your laptop can run DAoC. I think in your particular case BC, the error indicates that your gfx card isn't up to the task at all.

Got a friend sending me all the patchs for classic daoc (im on 56k, 100mb of patchs from a clean install = no ta) .. just praying i can run that :x

though ive found it to be pretty good today .. running 2xtoa, no toa grx, no toa trees .. runs pretty smoothly with both 1280x1024 windowed
