Render Creation failed?

I have just tried to play DAoC but just before the loading screen comes up, a message appears saying 'Render Creation failed' and then immediately afterwards an illegal operation window appears telling me to close down DAoC. I don't know what's wrong as it was working fine last night when I plalyed. If anyone has experienced the same problem or knows how I can solve the problem please post here asap. Thanks in advance.

I had the same problem a little while ago when I updatet my monitor drivers, the renderer creation failed thingy kept popping up and after a little research I uninstalled my monitordrivers and used the standard one that comes with windows..

also saw a faq about this on rightnow, try and check that faq out also.. good luck solving this problem

I've have also had this . It happened when i tried to set my in game resolution too high .
You need to log in to the server screen first (not straight into char , make sure no thanks is slected in char listing ) .
Pick your realm , go to options and reduce your render resolution .
You should then be able to log in normally .
Just keep doing it till your graphics card accepts the resolution you picked .

I would agree that the resolution is too high, but would suggest that the resoultion is too high for your Monitor, not your graphics card.

When I try to run at 1600 by 1200 i get the same message - graphics card is a gf4 ti4400 but on further investigation I discovered that my monitor supports max 1280 by 1024.

I had this problem after the client crashed on me. A simple restart did the job though.
