Aye! A certain amount of credit should go to Diensdal too, as he really rallied us all to the idea.

The best laugh I've had in ages hearing the alb tanks hammering on both sets of doors trying to get OUT, while we took out their casters! :D

Was the greatest fun ever, seing all those casters/minstrels/scouts with out their tanks, they went down pretty quickly.
In the end you zerged us though, not much chances, but i think myself we held it pretty good considered our numbers

Top job done by all, lots of good tactics all round.

Was a beautiful sight watching the jaws of the keep close in around the helpless tanks; I think that stunned the casters more than the healers that ported out to finish the job.

I was just happy after managing to lead the Savagers through the Alb frontier unmolested, apart from Shabs who did manage to manage to attract a tree. Must have been a Hib in another life! /ducks

Damn shame you weren’t there to see it Mak, and me, I got ZergLagLinkDeathed for free right back to sunny Huginfell when the second wave of albs came in. I guess you really can't have your cake and eat it :) /bah

Surely repairing keep doors from the room above is exploiting a bug?

In any event we were pleased to visit Midgard a little later and show you guys how to defend without resorting to cheating...

Ohh tell me when i would just love to meet albs in a decent keepdefence without casters on the roofs, casters in walls and pets popping in your face thru doors/walls.

And repairing the doors. Seen it many time the outer doors get repaired. And none gets hit with any AE.

Ummm...

Well while I wasn't there (was too busy at the Bazaar) I am pretty sure you guys are not the first to come up with this tactic.

In fact I am pretty sure it was us Albs that did it to the mids a month or so back.

Hope no trolls were hurt in the process of using their brains to remember that tactic. :D

Oh also I wanna say thank you guys for holding off your nightly attacks so we could at least get half-way thru the bazaar...mighty kind of you. ;)

Although not an authority on keep defence I've also jumped onto a roof, without use of the notorious screenshot jump bug. You just have to know where to jump.

Never seen any casters hiding in walls, but I'm sure people from all realms cheat. Doesn't mean it is right however, or that attention should not be drawn to the outer gate repairing incident the other evening.

As for pets, once again not an authority on this, but the use of pets appears to be extremely buggy to say the least. I could quite imagine that the instances you describe could happen with all innocence on the players behalf.

Simply put I don't like cheating, it cheapens the game for everyone.

lol ppl with pets dont cheat..the reason they pop out is cos most sensible ppl have their pets on defend, so when some big troll attacks it automatically charges after it.....wow tht really sounds like cheating :m00: :m00: :m00:

btw roflmao on the outer door repair....i was standing at the back when i saw all our tanks get trapped...hehehe i couldnt stop laughing....shame we then got zerged by all the middie tanks :( but still great night guys...

Actually we didnt repair it from upstairs, we repaired it from the inside in a corner, being hit by AE as much as trying to repair 2. door, so we stood very close to 2. door

It doesn't matter which realm uses it, repairing the gate from the room above is cheating. And I complained 'cos I -never- cheat. Cheating reduces the value of the game for everyone that plays it.

Well, porting out and reparing the door is cheating as well then I guess?

Umm, no?

Though would have to be quick work to avoid the 20 tanks on the door kicking your ass back to Middie land :p

Done the gate trick to the mids at benowyc ab. 1.5 months back.
We were 2 or 3 defenders there, and stopped 1 or 2 fgs of mids from taking beno that night :)

Oh, and dont recall the mids who were there bitching about it or calling it a cheat... so go figure :eek6:

I thought that repairing doors from room above was a bug that was fixed when they stopped dead people controlling siege weapons?

That was a couple of patches back, so if you can still do it, deff report it to Rightnow, as mythic reported they had fixed it...

anyways, i usually go for realism, when ever possible in this fantastical world, so lets point out here that its impossible to repair something when there is something in the way... thats just common sense.

I do wonder how bugs like this are found though, i mean its not like its an easy one to figure out, so this says to me that people spend too much of their time, actively looking for bugs to exploit, before the programmers get wind of it...

kinda like the whole "who found out you could get milk from a cow, and what in holy blue jesus' name did they think they were doing at the time?"...

Ok, bugs need to be found to be fixed, but equally, if people weren't so ready to use them whenever possible, then they wouldnt be so much of an issue, and Mythic can weed them out thru the EnE team, or responsible players, without having to endure it being exploited ad infinitum til the next patch...

<coughs> PBAOEing thru walls, ceilings and floors... bullshit <coughs>
