/assist is the reason I never really played my arms in RvR... :/ can't play decent in a group without it, but omg it's boring with it...

I agree, removing it would make tanks put some effort on fighting again, thus making RvR a little bit more interesting again and a bit easier for the targets of the assist train to react.

i think this would affect casters more since they target from afar etc... but thats just me x)

Assistacro suxx anyway if u play in a good grp. with all tanks understanding the game alike, they should go for same targets. Or at least be able to see what target bla bla is hitting. Imo remove it.

edit: it also lags alot in big fights so often faster picking target by hand.

assist could be removed without damaging the game at all. As all post has mentioned above, that would improve the "skill" in the game again. Back in the old good days (we old guys that is), we hade no tactics what so ever. Everyone was hitting the target the "felt like hitting". And if we won, we spammed "good job all!" :)

ack ack ... i miss thouse days...

/stick would damage the game tho. Lots of people don't have good connection, and trying to kill someone with a 56k modem would be, like, impossbile.. :)

So ... remove /assist, keep /stick!

It would hurt caster's more than tank's at the end of the day.

And the Best Tank's out There would just get better tbh, if your in a grp of competant tank's they will all choose the correct target faster than they will press /assist ;).

So yes you could be it wouldnt change much for the better group's out there just remove some of the /assist monkey's.

It would not hurt casters more. Every decent caster group has a debuffer - just watch out for the debuff grafix and assist manually. Additionally a good group will pick the same targets first - no need to even use /assist at the start of a fight.
On the other hand it might be tricky to pick the same target out of a pb box with 3 pb casters in it without having an /assist macro.

All in all I would also like to see this macro removed - we all know it won't happen though.

I know a good reason NOT to take it out....imagine you are five guys with sticks versus 5 other guys with sticks. Now your leader attacks one and you all beat on him, too. That's no prob cause u can clearly see what the boss is doing.
Now do that in DAoC, where a very short Highlander Gryphon Knight x5 is blocking your sight (well actually Warder more often, but there's also mid with Flammen Herra, not much shorter). So without assist you're likely to click on the wrong enemy, which sux hard, just making it more frustrating.

Givz collision control so when 1fg hits 1fg they bounce of in random directions, so str effects in it too, like ur str Vs enme str u can push outta da way , ... like move if a big troll running at u with 370 str and u only got 316str , its like run the fecker's gonna hit .!!!!!11111!!!

For me, remove /assist, /stick and /face. Then give somekind of limit of enemies on someone and especially depending on size (more luris can fit than trolls for instance;) ). Then also if too many people hitting someone not even casters can hit him (where does the spell pass when there are 4 trolls on a target?? ;). Lastly, maybe pbaoe should do some damage to same realm players? How the heck can an area damage decide to hit only enemies and not to hit allies?
