reinstalled HF again. HELP!

Hi

I just installed HF again onto my pc. Although I'm d/loading the patches, counterstrike, etc, as I type this, I thought "ah, I'll go into it now while im waiting and enter my CD key so I dont forget to do it later".
Thing is, I entered it, then it just said "halflife requires service pack 3 or above". I click 'OK' and I'm back to the desktop.
Win2k doesn't HAVE a SP3 and HF was out before win2k anyway afaik!!! It used to work when I had it on my pc before.
Yes, it is a fully paid up version, etc.

I'm running win2k SP2.

Help, please!

I assume it thinks I'm running NT4 and that's the SP it refers to.
Will the newer HL patch fix this do you think? Or am I wasting my time d/loading the patch?

i know it's a nightmare - sas has a no bad guide on cs - also post something saying cs players are LAME just for fun, have u stopped playing q3-ctf or just a bit bored atm m8 !

It fixed itself with the HL patch
No not bored mate, I just d/loaded and played Q3 Urban Terror and I enjoyed it so much that it reminded me how I was kinda getting into HL:CS when I did an fdisk and never put it back on
It's been about a year since I played it. Not lookin forward to making that cfg I spent so long making last time
