Gnnnng, I'd like to start by saying I REALLY hate computers.
Ok, after following the advice in the other thread and managing to get my fps back to decent levels I'm having the problem again and NOTHING I do seems to fix it. I'm running a Gf3 Ti500, Windows 2K SP3, and the 29.42 which Windows update thoughtfully decided to burden me with.
Starting up a game of Q2 (no settings have been changed in Q2) and doing a timerefresh gives me a fps count of 60 fps after the drivers have been reinstalled. When this is the case the screen is centered nicely and is full size. Now if I run either of the other fixes I end up with a fps count of 75 and a screen that is set smaller than usual and noticibly to the right.
What is irritating about this is that I used to get about 450/500 fps from a timerefresh in game, I know I'm not gonna be getting all those frames but it was a million times smoother.
So, what am I doing wrong? What is the easy step by step solution to fix this?
