Me: Doctor, it hurts when I move my arm like this.
Doc: Well, don't do it then.

Turn it down a bit?

That is just a guess, but if it's not loading at all, go into the con file you altered to enable the frequency adjusting, and change the 1 back to a 0.

If you didn't have to do that, then let me know and I'll look it up for you properly.

Sorted it Will, I tried changing it back to 60hz but it made no difference. Id forgotton that I play BF in 800-600, unlike all me other games that I play at 1024-768. So, changed the 800-600 back to 60 too, and suddenly it works.
Doesnt change the fact that it wont play at 85 hz, but oh well :)

You play at 120hz refresh rate ? Whats that like ? Do you do that for all your games or just this one ?
Interested :)

I thought whatever your windows refresh rate, BF changed it back down to 60 while you played --- how do you overide that and make it play at the refresh rate you want ?

Ditto, bar the alt-tabbing though. It's far smoother running at 120hz refresh than 60hz, and I could never go back to playing a game at 800*600 at less than 100hz.

I also play at 120Hz, why go any lower if your monitor can do the higher refresh rates? :)

The latest nVidia Detonator drivers allow you to manually specify your refresh rate at each resolution. They also allow you to force vsync on.

These two are the most useful features I have ever encountered in THE WORLD.

I play everything at 1024 @ 100Hz

Smooth as a freshly shaven wombat

Ok so for the question I really ought to know the answer to but...

Will upping the refresh rate slow the gameplay down ?

No.

thing is, if your comp cant handle that many frames per second, it will drop to a multiple of your refresh rate if vsync is on (leave it ON)

Hi,

I have a Geforce 4 8460 and was expecting everything to be running smoothly however I have a problem...

For some reason i see things being re-drawn, I'm flying along in my airplane and all I can see is trees and hills magically appearing. I have all the settings up full and am playing at a resolotion of 1024x786.

anyone have any suggestions?.

Cheers

hey

the gfx card he is referring too is a asus gf4 84600
or in laymans terms a ti4600 for any other branded card

as for the trees popping up go and set your d3d prerender frames from default 4 to 6 if your system can handle it higher the slower lower the faster and more ugly:)

I had this problem Throddy and you have to change a setting in the BF folder its summat like render+1 in the video folder.

well

you change the prerender limit via display propertys click advance and then find the tab d3d setting and way you go.
