Reducing animated GIF sizes?

What program do you guys use to reduce the size of gifs?

Or how do I do it whilst maintaining the animation?

On that subject, how do you reduce the size of still GIFs?

if you use Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop (or anything half decent) you'll find that the export utilities let you adjust the colour depth so simple GIFs can be made much smaller by knocking it down to 128 colours rather than the default 256.
