Recovering deleted items

Hi

My sister and her husband took digital photos while on holiday and when they transfered the pics onto the laptop, they decided they would delete them back off the laptop and transfer them again once they got home. The thing is, for some reason when they transfered the pics from the camera to the pc, they were automatically deleted from the camera, so in deleting the ones on the pc and then emptying the recylce bin, they effectively deleted the only copy of the pics they had!
I know there are ways you can still get the data back, even if the recycle bin is emptied (providing those data areas on the disk have not been overwritten yet), but I cannot for the life of me remember the name of a program that can do this. I'm not certain of the version of windows he is using, but do not think there is a resident program that can do it. Can anyone point me at a good program I can download from the web which will allow me to do this please?

thanks

I've heard of a Program called "Go Back" which goes back and restores files of a date you choose.

I think if they are using Windows version Fisher Price, oops, I mean XP that there is rollback built in?

You cannot beat a good roll back :)

WinXP Rollback is just a means of restoring the OS.
It doesn't work for your own files.

I don't know the make and model camera tbh.
afaik those programs work by taking a 'snapshot' of the disk which you can restore. As he didn't have a program like this active when the files were deleted, I dont think they will work. What I really need is a program which can recover deleted files by scanning the disk for deleted, but not overwritten data :(
