Record Label

This an independent record label me and some friends are setting up. There is a streaming audio radio station and original music downloads, as well as discusion forums and gig information. The site is very basic at the moment with a much more profesional site in progress. Any feedback about what should be in the site would be apreciated.

About the site design, frames aren't generally too popular around here anyway, although I'm not one to explain why :). Colour-scheme/graphics are fine though.

About the content, shouldn't there be an 'Artists Page' or something? It could list all the artists you sign and you could include the 'featured artist' thingy on there, as it seems a bit confusing having it on the front page; the front page should contain general information about the label and it's site, if you ask me.

Yeah id go with xenon and ditch the frames, looks ugly if browser isnt maximised etc with big chunkeh scroll bars.

Talbes are nice and easy, im no web design guru but i put this together which was fairly straight forward.

Thanks for the feedback fellas much apreciated. As I said the site is a glorified "under construction" page so there is somethig to look at whilst the "propper" site is being constructed. But i feel it needs to be as profesional and easy to use as possible in the mean time. To address the points broght up:-

Frames: Yeah i think i agree with you on this one, it is ok maximised at 1024 x 768 but go any lower or view it in a window and things start to get a bit crowded. Also i think i will reduce the size of the buttons, banners etc. as i designed it in 1024 x 768 and hadn't realy checked it at 800 x 600. Any thoughts ?

Home Page: The reason The Pipers are featured on the home page is because they are our only signed act, as i say we are in the process of setting up and we have as yet only released one 3 track CD. However there are a number of other acts we are looking at promoting plus our resident DJs which i could use to make an artists section. Ultimately I plan a dynamic home page with a rotating "featured artist" section, a latest gigs section and a latest news section. Again any thoughts

Skyler: No this is not a record label for bands, we are interested in quality musicians, DJs and engineers of all genres. We are not just putting out releases but also staging gigs and events from DJ only nights to entirely live nights. Recently we have put on gigs and events at:- The Cavern in Liverpool, The Night and Day Cafe in Manchester, THe Barfly in the National Centre for Popular Music in Shefield, The New Roscoe in Leeds and the Love Apple Cafe in Bradford. Come along and check us out, we are much more than just a record label for bands. Check out the website for udates on events around the country.
