please, please, please...why do i always have to type retry when connecting to a game. i have used wireplay, gamespy and even typed the address in within the game. im using a 64k cable modem with a celeron 433 with 128k of ram. any answers will be gratefully recieved. ty.

First of all this would be better in the HL/CS and other mods forum.

Secndly you need to give us more info, what does it say in the console when it doesn't work the first time?

bind F11 retry

Or it might be

bind F11 "retry"

Then whenever you press F11 it retrys.

it says that it has connected, but just hangs.......i just type retry and it goes through the connection business again, and then im in the game.

how big is the custom.hpk file in your cstrike directory ?

Delete it anyway

64k cable modem? I know a lot of people that have this problem, it's just a timeout i suspect. It happens with older computers you see. But to be honest, you kind of get used to it.

You, are just being picky. Besides, not all the quote marks are required to make a bind.
