Ello.

A while ago I was after a GBA SP. I somehow ended up buying a GBA with 6 games (not an SP) thats due to arrive Saturday.

I plan to ditch the GBA (ie. flog it to a mate) immediately and buy an SP.

First question - is the GBA SP a LOT better than the normal one?

2nd - I've got these games coming with it -

Final Round Golf
Mario Kart
High Heat
Advance Wars
Sonic Advance
Doom

This lot any good? I know Advance Wars is meant to be good, and I know Doom of course.

3rd question - can you recommend any more GBA games please? I've heard Golden Sun is good - any more?

4th and final question - it comes with "Gamester Clip on light thing" - any use or shite?

Cheers and ta for bearing with me.

Advance Wars is uber.
Also get Metroid and Mario Ware (this game is crack) and you're pretty much all sorted

SP is sturdier, sexier, more compact, has a backlight (which is very good), and generally just much better. Get who wants to be a millionaire.

No seriously. My mate (who has an sp, and wwtbam), kept going on at me "play it for fucks sake". "Fuck off" I said. So he switches it on and rams it infront of me.

It's actually pretty damn cool :D

When I saw the SP I knew it was finally time to get a GBA. I've also seen people who I wouldn't associate with 'playing games' with a GBA SP.

mario kart
all the mario advance games
advance wars
phantasy star collection
zelda advance
shining soul is either a love/hate thing, could go either way...

streetfighter alpha three and king of fighters ex neoblood are both supposed to be great...

Is Wario Ware definitely worth the asking price? I've heard its good but is it likely to keep me entertained as much as Advance Wars has? Or is it a bit boring after so long?

Wario Ware is one of the one enjoyable GBA games I've ever played.

It really did bring a smile to my face when playing it.

Only problem I forsee is the longevity - it'll all be over in 2 hours if you are an obsessive player.

Has replay value though.

...

i hear wario-ware is like 200 odd minigames, which is fair enough... but can someone describe what sort of mini games? give me some examples?

They're all about 3 seconds long. You get a scenario, you get a timer (3seconds) and you have to do something quick. It could be anything from sink a golf ball (aim, shoot), balance plates on someones head when he's ona unicycle (left/right), jump a skipping rope a couple of times (timed presses).

The list goes on and on and on, the game is incredibly fast paced, it doesn't let you up for air. It's very addictive.
