Recommendations?

With 1.62 I'll be rolling lots of lvl30 hiblets (I presume hib is the least populated realm on excal too).

I have had some fun with my chanter and a couple of other lowbie chars in the past but on the whole I got bored of soloing on my own.

So any recommendations on classes to try and more importantly a friendly guild to join that won't mind me asking where the hell I need to xp etc

i may be wrong (normally am)
but i didnt think exc/hib was marked as underpopulated so we just get normal lvl 20 hibs to make "if" you have a lvl 50 dude..

Yep, as far as I could work out, you need to have a level 50 on the same server and realm to use /level to create a insta level 20 or 30 character within that same realm and server.
Characters: Warden/Bard/Druid/Mana Chanter/Hero if you want to get groups relatively easy ..... but all characters are good fun if you don't mind making your own groups or taking rejection now and then
If your looking for a guild though, do a /who Ilfirin Arda and /send one of us. I'm sure we'd be happy to give you an invite.

Was thinking about these conditions to the /level command though ......... if it's true that you have to have a 50 on that server/realm already, then this will do exactly ZERO to increase that server/realm's population, as the people who already have a 50 are presumably already playing there. They can only play one character at once, so instead of being in rvr with their level 50, they will be a level 20/30 being pl'd by their mates in some insta spawn spot of purple cons ......

its not realm, it's account .....

so as long as you've got a lvl 50 on the account, you get access to the /level command... whether its 20 or 30 depends on which server and realm you decide to use the /level command in.

Once you have a lvl 50 your account is marked with having 1..

the /level command is least populated _server_ not realm iirc

so itll be /level 20 on excal /level 30 on pryd

Nope, its definately least populated realm, not server - just go look at the herald and the list of servers/realms getting the /level to 30 command...

However, it looks like not all servers will get a /level 30 command, if, i guess you are on a balanced server, population-wise. Not sure what excal will be classed as...

ok as I know almost nothing about most hib classes. What's a sensible spec for a warden, I presume the pbt is pretty much mandatory for a wanted warden. Also are there any nice solo classes (other than chanter!) .

Warden specs can vary but heres some popular ones.

Fighter warden

49 nurt for best resists, best haste, 6 sec pbt
39 blade for anytime attack speed debuff chain
16 regr for lower variance on base heals and better rez
12 parry - leftovers..

Healer warden

49 nurture
42 regr for 500-600ish single target heal
8 blade for taunt/detaunt
10 parry - leftovers..

jack-of-all-trades warden

49 nurture (see the pattern yet ? )
33 regr for 400ish single target heal
21 blade for 4 sec stun off a block
20 parry - leftovers...

I would suggest going either 16 regr or at least 33 regrowth - anything in between isnt any better than the base heals, just a bit more power efficient, therefore not best use of the points.

From experience (ive been both the fighter warden and then respecced to the healing warden) i wouldnt really recommend either - the fighter cant heal well at all, and the healer cant fight well at all. On 1.62 ill probably respec again to the last template above and at least be able to fight or heal.

However, this is all just my opinion, play around with the catacombs char builder to try a few specs, and just have fun

and wardens are, even though easy to level and dearly needed, quite boring, so play something else ^_^

i would advice a class that can pharm, so you can get cash for alts

Yeah I'm still in xpd and wazza (or moanypantz as we call him) is still here too. Finding less and less time for q3 but I still enjoy a game of ctf

I don't think that we will get /lvl 30 on exca for the simple reason that we have 3 power relics...
Kinda doesn't advertise weakness now does it.

In all honesty I believe Hib is fine population-wise. Altho more = always nice.

If it worked like that it would be rather stupid as this is a thing Mythic does to boost underpopulated servers and realms.
