recommend a good video card below £100

As topic says, considering that HL2 will be the main game for it.

My current vid card might be busted, so I might get a new one on the plastic. I have an Asus MB. (A7N8X deluxe).

9600 xt/pro/normal is probably the best for that sortof price atm.

What he said. While this will push you slightly over the £100 price point, it's well worth it if you want some HL2 goodness.

256mb version for same price, they also do 9600 pro for 101.

Little point in a 256mb 9600 from what I understand about how much memory games use, but then again, it can't hurt to have it for the same price

Edit: That site is very confused ECA, try clicking on full description, they appear to have mixed the descriptions up. A website where the information does not appear correctly doe not fill me with faith. The stats for the 256mb 9600 pro claim it has 128mb ddr ram.
