Realm Leaders

Saw an interested thread on the Excal Alb forum about a realm leader to take charge of RvR battles and so on. I'm just getting to the stage where i feel I can become barely usefull RvR and wondered if we have anything similar. If we dont, what do people think about the idea? (make no mistake - I'm in no way volunteering!:) ) could it work?

tbh you shouldnt expect a sub 40 to be effective in RvR

/em opens up a can of worms

Sub 40 not usefull in RvR? Anyone else of the same opinion? TBH, I was waiting until lvl 40 before I went anyway but I think sub 40 will have their uses no?

I doubt anyone will have enough tolerance or hair to pull out to lead this realm in rvr.
Hat goes off to anyone trying.

Bit like yesterday eh gombur?well the half that did charge were people who know how to rvr and krillin had a go which didn't do too bad. It's just a shame the others just stood there like idiots and didn't join in our charge or we would of won that battle.

Some people just lv their chars to 50 just to sit down in emain:(

Gabriel youve taken a wrong turn on the forums some where, this is the Albion forum. Of course it cant work ;

Albs + RvR = wimps

To be honest, i dont know why most albs even bother to waste time going when all they do is sit on PK hill.

I think every one that says they are not wimps in rvr should all go together to emain. Then we would have a good group. We would also see who the wimps are.

I think i have tried that too much and have noticed a lot of similar things...

It's a very nice idea, but...

To co-ordinate what is going on on the frontier, receive reports, and issue orders, the level of the character isn't really that relevant - the skills of the player in assimilating all the information, judging what is going on, and choosing the right methods and timing on how to handle the situations are what matter.

The second bit in Albion would be even harder - getting folks to listen to what you tell them to do, and have them actually do it.

With all the inter-character, inter-guild rivalries and feuding that we've seen in the past, it's extremely unlikely that anyone can get sufficient respect from all of the folks involved on the frontier to be properly listened to and obeyed. (Laird gets damn close, but even he has to put up with people ignoring him, or deciding they 'know better what to do' than he does).

There is scope for someone acting as 'realm leader' within the guilds or alliances where the membership agree to accept that person as a 'leader', but wider that the it all starts to go wrong - most gamers are too 'individualistic' (or perhaps that should be bloody minded, arrogant, conceited or plain stupid :)) to listen to instructions from anyone else..... Like Gombur, I really admire those folks with the patience to try!

at level 37 a cleric is usefull
buffs and heals can't miss or get resisted

depends a bit on specs (smite is not usefull at 37)

And who gives a rats ass about usefull :)
Just have fun but don't be dissapointed if some "uber" group won't take you.

True - Im enhance/rejuv specced (30/21) with 3 smite :)

I was told by others though that groups would probby not welcome me below level 40 which sounds a shame to me. PvE my dex buffs seem to increase scout bow dmg output by about 25%. I know RvR is different but I assume there is a similar bonus even if the chars I put them on are higher in level.

As far as sub 40s being useful in rvr , it really does depend on what class they are .

With regards a single leader for RvR , unfortunately there is too much "hassle " between various people/guilds .
Laird does a great job when he runs raids etc , not sure about others only been on Laird / Larsa ones . And all have been fun .

The sooner people start to realise we don't have to run everytime we see a mid , the better of the realm will be .

Lets hope things get better ;)

Im not much into the politics of the server - who hates who then? :)

It seems a shame though if the differences cannot be overcome.

/edit: Actually, you dont have to say who dislikes who or this thread may just turn into a ball of flames /edit

I think it is wrong to say that any one "guild" hates another on this server. The hatred stems mainly from a small manority of jealous small minded people, on the whole the realm gets along

Yup... the GMs around and about generally get on well with one another, and in RVR defence we seem to quickly get chat groups running and things done...I guess this may not be the case so much in the emain zergs because the RP greed red mist comes over and things change, sadly. Still... things are getting better slowly, I think.

I think its about time that the antagonistic parties met up and had an adult discussion about the percieved problems, rather than constantly bickering at each other behind closed doors. In the end this has to benefit the realm, but it will only happen if certain people become more open minded

aye i do remember you Gabrial you get bored of the ol minstrel then?

and regards usefullness ideally you need to be capable of rezzing anyone upto level 50 so ideally i`d say you need to be level 40 although everyones useful in RvR we often take level 7-30`s hunting in our guild and many times taken down superior levels and numbers

too many people think level 50 will make them uber to the point of superhuman unkillable abilities and thats the way we like it :)

if you want to go rvr then just go and have fun
