Well.

They are basicly doing the same thing here that fashion industry does. The first image of the girl is probably "smutted up" also to heighten the effect. So what if magazines and such want to show beautiful people instead of dogs?

In a nuthsell this whole "pretty people in magazines is bad" is just the creation of an "ugly" girl who has low self esteem. It's 50/50, both are wrong and both have a right.

Sure, "ugly" people should feel pretty too, but does it mean the rest have to suffer?

If someone really doesn't like the "twisted" way the fashion works, stop putting on makeup, wear baggy clothes, let yourself go completely...that's how you beat it...by not caring.

it is sad that so many people are aspiring to be something that isnt even physically real.

Everyone just needs to realise that we are all different, we all have out physical "quirks" but that is what makes us all individual's. It isn't something we should be trying to erase.
