Dear Auntie Tech,

Ive got a computer and weve ben goeetting on really well lately. I even got us both ADSL so we can have more and faster fun on the internet. However, i am afraid there is something wrong now.

Keep getting dropped out of DAOC onto my desktop, from where i can click on the task bar to get DAOC back up and running.

BUT....a few minutes later, it drops again, but this time my firewall is asking if SVCHOST.exe. can access an IP.

Its NEVER done this before. Does my computer really hate me? Is it something ive done?

If its never done this before have u checked to see if u have a trojan on ur system?

check your process list, its run from game.dll through svchost

doublecheck if it's the pryd/excal ip it wants to connect to


anyways, scanning for viruses is never a bad idea

Aha! Your right, twas a worm type thingy....but one called Welchia.

A friend suggested checking a couple of symtec websites which got me the download tool.

would post the URL but it says i cant because im not a regular poster

aye norton warned me last nite of that worm virus

it was a bugger totally slowed down my whole pc to a crawl lol
