Re Macros... returning newbie query

Am returning to game after almost a years absence. looks cool too...

Apologies for newbie type query...

Now please can you tell me how to create the macro which asks/whispers to the NPC characters for quests or helping them or killing something? For the life of me I cannot remember.

/macro TASK /whisper task

To get a guard to kill something, you need to be in range, as does the thing attack you, of the guard. Then you just click him/her like mad.

And of course using "/whisper task" gives more exp than just "/s task"

however for the best kill task exp the longer and more meaningfull the statement to the guard, the more exp.

"Brave sir knight, i wish to help defend the realm, would you have any task i could perform." is generaly quite good.
