(re)installing, copy to save patch time?

I'm in the process of patching daoc on my gf's pc at a whopping 3k/sec. That's about 1 meg every 5 mins and with patches totalling somewhere around 50meg...

I was wondering if I could copy all the anims and sounds from a PC with the latest version, and put them on the PC I'm currently patching in an effort to seriously reduce the patch time.

Would this work?

Thanks in advance.

It will work only if u efectively copy the whole directory, ie copy C:\Mythic\Camelot. It's only 260 megs, without screenshots

It does work, but u must install disk first then copy files over the top of the earlier version files.

put a crossed TP cable between your computer and your GF´s and copy c:/mythic/camelot

thats all

As Osy said, it works if you just copy the whole directory across (I've done this a few times). Just burn it onto a CD.

Don't forget to remove the 'Read Only' attribute and to change the Account Name and CD Key.

You need a valid CDKey to start the thing.

Ever tried using a m8s account, you get a warning about account sharing... only way they can tell u r using it on another copy of the game.....by the CD key.
