Has anyone ever invented a form of tunnel proxy type thing for daoc? Here at uni the only ports I can use are ftp and http.

Thanks

Please note: Mythic Entertainment will not be able to assist with the setup for users running behind a PROXY server or any home network setup. Please contact your ISP, computer manufacturer or networking hardware manufacturer for further assistance on configuring Dark Age of Camelot to run through your PROXY server or Home network.

All UDP ports 1024->65535
TCP ports 1280, 10500 and 10622

Make sure to open 2-way traffic to the following class C:

208.254.16.0 / 255.255.255.0 (netmask)
a.k.a.
208.254.16.0 / 24 (universal)

Oh i think those IPs are for the Mythic login servers. I just pasted it for the ports though, which should be identical.

well from all that ive configured so far all i can do is connect to the update server, but then i get a "cannot retrieve patch yutility update information" which makes me think i havnt opened the appropriate port.

So far ive changed and redirected the login.dat requests and update.dat

update.dat now looks like this :-

Mythic Patch
127.0.0.1:3024/updates/english/camelot/mpatch.dat

127.0.0.1 being the address needed to connect to the tunneler and 3024 being a free port which will be let through my proxy this is then redirected to :-

193.252.123.21:1280 (the original address for the update)

the login.dat looks like :-

# Socket descriptor list
[main]
numofservers=10
quickplay=0

[daocclient0]
addr=127.0.0.1
port=3025

[daocclient1]
addr=127.0.0.1
port=3026

[daocclient2]
addr=127.0.0.1
port=3027

[daocclient3]
addr=127.0.0.1
port=3028

[daocclient4]
addr=127.0.0.1
port=3029

[daocclient5]
addr=127.0.0.1
port=3030

[daocclient6]
addr=127.0.0.1
port=3031

[daocclient7]
addr=127.0.0.1
port=3032

[daocclient8]
addr=127.0.0.1
port=3033

[daocclient9]
addr=127.0.0.1
port=3034

each of those address' being redirected in the same way to
193.252.123.20:10500 or 10501 or 10502 or 10503 or 10504
193.252.123.30: ditto
according to original port set in the dat

ive also altered my main chars quickentry to:-
127.0.0.1:tunnelling_port
from
193.252.123.33, 10622 in user.dat

is there anything else i need to alter? i cant find any other connection startups in the dats so would it be in the dlls? since to tunnel i need to point the daoc program that needs that connection to the tunneler i need to fing where the request for it is in a certain application

thanks for reading all this :)

Hey, sorry to ressurect an old thread but it sounds like what I need :p

I'm behind a uni firewall and looking for ways to get around it ;) Everything's cool except for annoying linkdeads (every five minutes) and since a pingplotter shows no lag I'm guessing that I need a tunneler too.

So if you got it right artemus, could you help me out?

Thanks
