I have a Lite-on CDRW 52x24x52 out the box firmware wise.... What do I get from updating the firmware... I've had no probs with the drive should I go ahead and update anyway?
Firmware updates for CD drives tend to correct any known issues (but these are rare) and improve compatibility for a wider variety of CD media.
I tend to install the firmware upgrades as a matter of course and I've never had a problem doing so. Particularly now as the Lite-On upgrades can be installed in Windows, so no more farting about with bootable system floppies and DOS.
