Ikky ikky gooooooooooo
yukky mouse :/
It still has a ball - Not that its a bad thing, its good as far as balled mice go.
My mate has a razor, and we did swap (for my explorer) the other week to compare
I hate it. Its just not as smooth as the explorer. The explorer mouse gives you defined and well worked movement. The razor, more so when dusty is still a ball mouse at the end of the day, and doesnt perform any better then a 20 quid logitech with the ps2rate program running - Ok if your willing to spend 80 quid more for the sake of a funny shape and 2 more buttons do so - But i do suggest the explorer if you like the buttons, or if you are of the small ilk of the human race, get the intellimouse with intellieye. Im 6'4" so i have no problems gripping my explorer. Up to you at the end of the day mate, but just think - are you really willing to pay 100 quid for a mouse ? when you could spend 40 on an explorer and the other 60 buying another 64 meg of ram, or an MP3 player, or some creative FPS2000 Surround speakers, or a sound blaster live.... the list goes on - its only a mouse...

i currently use an ms explorer (the eye one) and love it BUT its also been feeling real laggy in q3a (my old ms usb mouse was ok btw) and i simply wondered if any users frequented these boards ......

when i say it feals laggy .....
i used to play q3a with a sensitivty of 14, ive had to bump it up to 25 BEFORE it felt like it used to !

I've got both the Intellimouse explorer and the Razer Boomslang 2000.

I find the razer very difficult to get along with. It's so sensitive that I have to really lower the sensitivity to use it. I know that people do get used to it, but for now it's languishing in my 'seemed-like-a-good-idea-at-the-time' gadget bin.

The intellimouse is much more usable (IMO), and I don't suffer from any of the lag you mentioned. It does suffer from buildup on it's pads, but apart from that..no problem.

I got offered the 2000 if I endorsed it on my site... after three hours of frustrating, tedious, gaming... playing some of the worst games I have to date... (5-11 per arena) I put it back in its box and returned it... got into my car and went out and bought the XPlorer... I don't know why people like the razer so much, I thought it was a horrible mouse the explorer is great, offers more buttons and crystal clear gameplay 100% of the time. Unless your PC sux. (oh, and the reccomended position for holding it of thumb and little finger holding the body and fingers on the buttons with the palm lifted off the mouse is about 4x more likely to cause RSI)

An Intellimouse Explorer with increased resolution..... now you're talking.

Oh, by the way, if you want the explorer for about £40 look at mail order companies like dabs and software warehouse... £41.11 inc. postage.. I know they aren't the cheapest but they're huge and always have the stock...

What did i say xav mate ?
hehe, www.insight.com/uk

36 quid, inc Vat and delivery

its an expensive mouse, and they are prone to turning you face up and spinning in circles every now and again - but hell its a smooth mouse and my play has improved because of it. I say no more.
