Rides a Dread Legion
The first book in a brand new 2 book series by the master of epic fantasy, Raymond E. Feist. Ten years after the cataclysmic events of Wrath of a Mad God took place, Midkemia now faces a new danger thought buried in myth and antiquity.

Laromendis is a conjurer from another world - a world inhabited by a race of high elves whose home is being ravaged by the Dread Legion of the Demon King. The elves' only hope lies in finding the lost homeworld - Midkemia - and now they must reclaim it, at any cost! Pug summons the help of a warlock and a holy demon-taming cleric, but in doing so, he has unwittingly reunited two former lovers whose parting was bitter . . . and who just might have secret agendas of their own.

The title was announced by Raymond E. Feist on the Feistfans-l Mailing List on 20 April 2008.

Yeah if you go on that link i posted, its the official site. You'll be able to read them in order which is not essential, but does kinda make life easier.

If you do decide to read more of his work, best leave out the Kelewan trilogy (daughter, mistress, servant of the empire). It's an ok trilogy, but it's better to read some of his other work first imo.

Feist became so formulaic after his first couple of series that I gave up on him a few years back. His newer books really are quite painful to read :( .

Magician is still a standout book in the genre though.

Reading Prince of the Blood now, it's an excellent stand alone book set after the Riftwar series. I took a break after reading Exile's return. I want to start the Darkwar Saga but couldn't bring myself to do it when all of his previous work was a bit foggy in memory so i decided to start from Magician and work my way through (his books are just as excellent the second time round).

If anyone is interested this is a rough chronological order of his works (i would miss The Empire Trilogy and the Legends of the Riftwar - they are arguably his weaker series).

The Riftwar Saga
Magician
Silverthorn (Magician + 1 year)
A Darkness at Sethanon (M+2)

The Empire Trilogy
Daughter of the Empire (takes place during Magician)
Servant of the Empire (takes place during Magician)
Mistress of the Empire (takes place after A Darkness at Sethanon)

Legends of the Riftwar
Honoured Enemy (takes place during Magician)
Murder in LaMut (takes place during Magician)
Jimmy the Hand (takes place during Magician)

The Riftwar Legacy
Krondor: The Betrayal (M+12)
Krondor: The Assassins (M+12)
Krondor: Tear of the Gods (c. M+13)

Krondor's Sons
Prince of the Blood (M+22)
The King's Bucanneer (M+32)

The Serpentwar Saga
Shadow of a Dark Queen (M+57)
Rise of a Merchant Prince (M+58)
Rage of a Demon King (M+59)
Shards of a Broken Crown (M+59)

Conclave of Shadows
Talon of the Silver Hawk (c. M+90)
King of Foxes (c. M+90)
Exile's Return (c. M+90)

The Darkwar Saga
Flight of the Nighthawks (c. M+90)
Into a Dark Realm (c. M+90)
Wrath of a Mad God (c. M+90)

The Demonwar Saga
Rides a Dread Legion (forthcoming, probably set c. M+120)
Return of the Demon King (forthcoming)

The Chaoswar Saga
A Kingdom Besieged (forthcoming)
A Crown Imperiled (forthcoming)
Magician's End (forthcoming)

Tbh Feist books are all a bit "meh" with the exception of the Magician Trilogy (even silverthorn wasnt that good) and the Daughter of the Empire trilogy
