is it worthwhile by the way a voidey like me with 26 light to get a 50 lvl focus light staff as well as void?

atm U need 2 staffs:-

a). Uber void staff, for void things such as spamming GTAOE, AOE, Bolts etc in keep attack / defence where you are reasonably certain your not gonna have to nuke some kamikazee troll in a hurry.

b). Arch-Eld staff, for the light focus while still retaining as good void focus. This lets you mix bolts/light dd in rvr with minimum hassle. IMHO you need both ready to go, swapping in and out 50 focus staffs is not really an option.

anyone know how this might change with spellcrafting? Perhaps I can make a staff with just light and void focus at higher levels...?

with sc focus gems can be made, unsure of how many sc points the level 50 ones take up, but i know the level 50 ones need around 1000 sc to make

You can mix the gems that give stats just as you like. So yes, you could easily do a dual or even a tri 50 focus staff.

Pretty simple, you want 50 light and void focus? You got it. Use high quality gems (preferably MP ones) to avoid the staff from blowing up.

Imbue Points: 34 of 32 (100% Qual) Overcharge: 100%

Gem 2: 50 Void Focus - 100% perfect Icy Focus Stone
