So how does the ranking system work? Do more items/Certs appear as you rise in rank, or just the same ones? Does your skill in a particular discipline improve as your rank increases?

Oh, and does killing a high level player give more xp points? (I killed a chap called 'Alby' last night for 296 points... which is far and away my highest single xp gain)... or is it just that he hadn't been killed for a while?

Lot of questions... but hey, you're the guys that know right?

Having a fair bit of fun so far... playing VS as a combat engineer (Cadire) and a sniper (Cad).

xp is determined by the armor your enemy is wearing, and the time he's lived.

Best I ever got was ~310 xp for soloing a MAX unit.

Killing higher BR's don't give more xp as a rule... but they tend to live longer, so are usualy worth more xp

BR is just the act of getting more cert points

at BR 6, 12 and 18 you get to choose an implant

at BR7, BR14 (and BR20 in beta), you get a new uniform look. Purely graphical, no extra stats.

There is no "skill" factor in a discipline... you can buy the sniper cert for example, and suck at sniping.. simply having the cert doesn't make you good at using the weapon/vehilce... thats personal skill.... which improves with practise

Yep, its the same certs all the way.

from a daoc perspective certs, and therefore battle rank, hence even XP might seem useless, because once you know what you want to be e.g "ok i want to be a tank driver" you can do that from the start.

The only thing that XP gets you in this game, is the ability to do more things yourself. So when everyone is BR20, with all the certs, you can say byebye to teamplay as everyone will be a hacking, healing, repairing, gunning, invisible, tank driving reaver pilot.

Probably because they don't want players knowing who's BR20 and who's not.
