Old topic I know, but someone was asking for a repost
My Ranger Template is as follows
45 Recursive Bow
39 Stealth
30 pierce
36 pathfinding
8 CD
I wouldn't advise going higher on RB than that....
In fact many could argue that RB should be lower and the final Path finding damage add is worth having instead...
One thing, I dont rate the mellee ability of a luri or elf ranger that much. Keeping a good distance between yourself and your targets is vital, if things go wrong this gives you a chance to flee and get that stealth mode back on (this is important, for prolonged soloing in RVR)..... So If you play one I would specc heavily in Bow and stealth
Only other variation I can see Is playing a more team based ranger that can tank a bit more in the form of a Celt...
In this case keep the bow spec much lower (around 30) and go high on the Weap skill and CD and path. You wont need massive stealth either then so keep that to around 20+
This type of character is design to be played in a group (but could solo pretty well too i guess).
bear in mind you will all eventually have massive item bonus which wil give you around +11 to RB +8 to pierce or swords, +4 to CD, +11 to stealth... with the realm rank bonus to thats vital
As with everything in DAOC this is open to opinion, Everyone has a slightley different spec. I would say as always, specc your character to how you intend to play the game....
