Hey Chaps :)

OK, just starting out on Camlann, so bear with me...

I've started various characters (and don't have a 50, so am doing the whole level 1 and up grind) but not sure what is best, what to spec, etc etc...

Anyways - what level can the nasty purple-types one shot me? At the moment, I am too low for people to kill me (I assume) and it cracks me up when a handful of people swerve at me with their weapons out and just stand there trying to beat me to death!

What character is best for someone starting out on Camlann? I've only played Alb before, so know my way around there and know pretty much what classes are what, but have only ever done PvE, so not sure about the whole RVR-type stuff...

I also don't understand the whole /realm /relic screen - am I right in assuming Guilds claim relics? Who gets DF? It it free-for-all? Are there safe zones?

I know I am likely to die a LOT from people - sure it'll prolly get frustrating, but I KNOW this is PvP, so won't be here posting "Damn you <insert char name> you n00b, grey ganking" etc etc... I don't know if I will hang around, don't know if I will love it or hate it, but hey - it's a new aspect of the game I wanna try!! hehehe

(and so far, I have a necro, an infi and a fire wizzy! Highest is about level 6... maybe 7)

Thanks in advanced for any info (and before anyone else says it - Cry more n00b ;))

level 10 is when your safety flag turns off, ppl can gank you then (but they'll be greyganking  ) After that you can still safely level in the first dungeon of each realm (mithra, muire, nisses).

As for class, i'd say someone with speed (mincer is quite good becuase of stealth to hide) or anything thats easy to level (necro is very good).

Guilds claim relics, yes, they are held in the guilds claimed keep which can be raided etc... DF is open to everyone, and pvp is possible everywhere except the capital cities (camelot, jordheim, tnn) and the first dugeons.

Yes, you'll be ganked a lot, but persevere and it can be lots of fun :)

-Skold lvl 25 skald :D

GreyGanking - From reading these boards, it seems to be the main thing to do... But then, it is a PvP server, so those that want to, can.

Thanks for the info about the lowbie dungeons - I didn't know that, so will head on over to Mithra! I'm going to concentrate on my Mincer, plus my other half is going to start on there too, so I will prolly get her to play a necro or some such! I am sure once I get used to it, I will have fun! It's fun at the moment, but then, I am invincible!

Thanks for the info... Now to try and get a guild where people sprecken ze English. hehe

if there are two of you try mincer & assassin/archer combo works great for pvping if u can get past the leveling part with it, otherwise yeah, necros are leveling machines as long as you are smart and spec deathsight :p

and greyganking isnt *that* common, I for one dont kill greys.. and I do sometimes see the greys having their very own fights in cotswold for example, undisturbed by the /lvl'd chars :)
